Marian laughed when he laughed, just happy to hear the sound. Letting him pull her into his arms, she rested her head against his chest, her arms going around him tightly.
"As long as you love me I do not care what others think of how I look."

"I've got a secret for you now, Marian."
He pressed a kiss to the top of her head, whispering the words as if someone might overhear them. "Everyone else thinks you're gorgeous too. They're all insanely jealous that I have you."

Marian giggled at his words, rolling her eyes. She far from agreed with him, not seeing why so many would be jealous. She knew he was teasing however, and would not take it too seriously.
"Do not be ridiculous."

"I'm not!" Robin exclaimed innocently, indignant that she would say so.
"Honestly, Marian, why wouldn't they be jealous? I have you, all to myself," he held her back from his chest to kiss her again to prove the point before continuing, "and they...do not."

She soon found his lips on hers, making it hard for him to stay annoyed at his stupid words. She knew that it was very unlikely that many would be jealous of him, he was just saying that. But two could play this game.
"I fear the jealousy of the girls who worship their hero," she teased, running her hands up and down his chest. "They shall not appreciate me much."

Robin was rather enjoying what she was doing, deciding he very much liked this apparent new willingness from her to be so physical in her affection, since she had come to the forest.
"No, my many hordes of adoring fans know not to be jealous. They know my heart is yours."

"Many hordes? I am glad they know, for I am sure I could not defend myself against so many girls."
She finally settled her hands, letting them wrap around his neck. She liked standing like this, standing this close to him. Especially when they were teasing one another like this, the life they always thought they would have. They constantly teased each other when they were younger, it was nice to have that sort of fun now.

Robin returned her hold, rocking her slightly. He still couldn't believe that they were engaged now. Officially. And all it had taken was for him to get over his cowardice and just ask her.
"Do you think we should tell the others, or keep it a secret?" He looked down at her in curiosity.

She had not thought of that before, telling the others. They deserved know, know exactly what was going on with them. But should they tell them so soon?
"I think they deserve know but it is up to you."

Robin nodded, glancing in the direction of the empty camp. "I'll think about it, decide before they get back."
Taking her hand, he ran his thumb over the ring. "I think Much suspects something, anyway. He kept asking why I was going to Clun, but I would not tell him. I didn't want him to know I was getting the ring made."

She looked to the ring, smiling a little as he ran his finger over it. What he said next, she could not help but be shocked over.
"You got it made? How did you keep that away from me."
She could not believe that he could sneak to Clun for a ring and she did not realise.

Robin gave her a cheeky, open mouthed grin. "Well, that's simple. I am Robin Hood."
Running his thumb across her knuckles, he considered the small stone set in the fine silver band. "I wanted to get you something that had not been taken from someone else. Not exactly a simple task, these days."

Marian laughed at his explanation, rolling her eyes a little. She expected that would be his reason for everything from now on. Smiling down at the ring for a moment, she looked up at him looking slightly amazed.
"You did not have to go to such trouble for me."

Robin just shrugged.
"It was no trouble. I had not even finished my explanation before I was willingly offered help. Apparently, people like me. Who'd have thought, eh? Besides, even if it had been...you deserve it. You deserve the finest ring money can buy, Marian. And one day I will be able to get it for you."

"I do not need some other fancy ring, Robin. I barely even need the ring. I know I love you and I know I am to marry you. That is all that matters to me."
She was being honest. If he had not given her a ring she would have accepted anyway. Because she did not want to marry him for the ring he could provide. She wanted to marry him because it was him.
