Marian laughed at his look, looking away from him. She knew soon she would cave and tell him, but for now the slight childish tease in her game helped her to get over the seriousness of what had happened moments before.
"I do not know what you are talking about," she said, looking up at him through her eyelashes.

Robin gave an exasperated sigh, seeing her coy look. She was truly terrible at feigning ignorance. She always had been, even when they were young. She could never lie to him, or hide anything from him for long. Not when it was something so light hearted. He knew it, and so did she.
"You are truly an evil woman, Marian." Looking out from their hiding place, Robin moved from beneath the bushes. Standing, he offered his hand to Marian. "Well, in the meantime, we don't need to stay sitting in amongst the leaves, do we?"

Marian laughed at his words, taking his hand and standing. Grinning up at him, she looked at him knowing that he knew she was playing a game. She never was good at doing such a thing, playing such a game in front of him. He was always better at it, always managed to make her give in easily.
"I am far from evil, Robin."

Robin gave her an indulgent look, his tone completely patronising. "Okay Marian, you are not evil in the slightest."
He glanced back in the direction Gisborne had gone. "I'm sorry about your necklace. I know how much you like it. I'll get it back for you the next time I see Gisborne, when he does not have so many men with him."
Changing the subject, Robin continued. "Back to the matter at hand, however...you can keep the clothes if you must, but Marian there may come a time quite soon when I shall very much require my boots."

"Do not worry, the forest is no place for such things. I can get another."
Of course, it was one of her mother's, her father giving it to her when she got betrothed to Robin, a small present to say how proud her mother would have been. But she did not want to appear sentimental over a piece of jewlery when others out there lost things far more precious.
Laughing, she bent down to grab the clothing, handing him his boots and keeping a hold of the rest of his clothes until he needed them. Grinning, she wrapped the scarf around her neck, waiting for him to pull it off.

Robin watched her closely, not for one moment believing her dismissive words. "I know it was your Mother's, Marian. You told me about it once, don't you remember? It is precious to you, and there is nothing wrong with wanting it back."
Robin took the boots from her, standing on one foot and then the other to pull them on, laughing at Marian in the process of doing so, seeing her wrap the scarf around her neck.
"My scarf suits you, Marian." He tipped his head slightly, considering. "Though not as much as it suits me, I think."

"I do not want you to do anything and risk being caught. You are just as precious to me as that necklace."
She smiled as she watched him, handing over the top but keeping the scarf once he had finished getting his boots on.
"I think it suits me. So much I do not think I shall give it back," she said with a cheeky grin, running her fingers along it.

"I don't think I have ever been described as precious before, Marian. Thankyou for adding it to a day full of firsts."
Robin held the top in his hands, wondering if it was worth putting it on until it was fully dry. Shrugging, he tied it round his waist.
Reaching out, he pulled gently on the end of the scarf, pulling her towards him even as it slid from around her neck. Letting it hang from his fingers once he had it, he pulled her close, kissing her before stepping back to look at her again.
"No, I don't think so. I much prefer being able to see your neck, Marian." He winked.

"You are precious to me," she said with a light laugh.
Marian grinned when he kissed her, not feeling the scarf slowly fall from around her neck. When he stepped back, the scarf firmly in his hands, she reached up to where it had been sitting moments ago. At his words, she rolled her eyes, playing with the string from her wooden tag.
"I gathered as much earlier."
She had to admit, she was a little disappointed when he removed the scarf. After all, whilst it was around her she could smell everything she smelt when she held him close, and it brought a slight comfort to her.

"Oh you did, did you? Well, there's always next time for me to worship some other part of you, Marian."
Robin wound the scarf up, holding it out to her. "A temporary replacement for the lost necklace?" He laughed, seeing as a scarf was hardly a suitable replacement, doubting she would find humour in the offer.

Marian blushed brightly at his words, and was speaking before she realised what she was saying.
"And where do you suggest you worship next time?"
Her eyes going wide, she was glad for the distraction of the scarf. It was not much of a replacement, but it belonged to someone else who meant a lot to her. Stepping forward, she nodded.
"Go on then," she said with a smile, waiting for him to wrap it around her.

Robin looked her up and down, tongue appearing between his teeth as he considered. "Too difficult. I can't possibly choose, Marian." He did not need to say the 'I will have to worship you everywhere'. It was implied.
He wrapped the scarf around her neck, tucking the end back in to the side so that it wouldn't come undone. "Well, that's certainly fine jewellery, if ever I saw it."

She felt her blush deepen in redness, suddenly feeling rather warm. Biting her lip, she had a moment of satisfaction when she realised that he could not choose because he wanted to worship her entirely.
When the scarf was tied around her neck, tight enough that it would stay still, she grinned. Slowly, she brought her hand up to touch it gently.
"The finest, I believe."

"Of course. I would not allow you to have anything but the best in...dirty scarf jewellery."
He thought it a little odd that she would want to continue wearing it, considering the state it was in, but would not pass comment. It was not as if he would miss it, it served no real purpose, only really necessary during the colder months.

"And you are very good at supplying the best."
She laughed, noting the slight confused look on his face, but she refused to tell him why she wanted to keep it. If she told him it was to keep her feeling close to him, she knew he would only tease her about it endlessly.
