"I look forward to it."
She sighed when his hand went to the back of her head, closing her eyes for a moment. He knew he far too well, knew that she would find it hard coping in such circumstances. But she would not complain, she chose this.
"Part of the reason why I woke early. The breeze was a bit too cold. I shall get used to it though."

Robin pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Mmm, I think it will be a cold day." He looked up through the gaps in the canopy. "Looks like we may be enjoying some rain soon, too." When he continued, unable to resist, his tone was light.
"If you're ever cold at night, you know where to find me."

Marian looked up when his eyes glanced at the sky, noticing the darkness that surely meant rain. At least the camp could be kept dry to an extent, so they would not be too wet, just cold. Bringing her eyes back to him, she rolled them at his playful words.
"Are you offering such a solution to all your gang?"

Robin grinned down at her.
"Hardly. I would not do something so kind for just anyone you know Marian. You, however, I am more than willing to keep warm at night."
He was still teasing her, but he knew he would happily just spend the night holding her, if the alternative was not an option. It would feel good to be so close to her whilst she slept.

"I may take you up on that offer."
She was being honest, she knew that in his arms she would be warmer. It was always the way, sharing heat and perhaps they could put both their blankets over each other. That way they would both stay warm, and she would stay close to him.

"You know I won't object to having you close, Marian."
He pulled back from the hold he had on her, reaching down and picking up the bow she had dropped. He held it in his hand, feeling the weight of the wood, and the balance of it. Any bow not his own felt almost strange to him now, even though he could still use them perfectly well. He often wondered what it said about him that he was so attached to a weapon.
"I did try very hard to impress you back then, didn't I?" He asked with amusement, looking down at the bow.

"I do not object either. And...after all, it would be best if we found some way to stay warm if it gets colder."
It was her way of saying that she would like to hold him as she slept, keep the heat between them both. Especially in the forest where they did not have the luxury of a fire burning most of the night. She watched as he picked up his bow, laughing a little at his words.
"You certainly did."

"Of course. There is wisdom in your words. It would be entirely about keeping away the cold." He winked at her.
Holding the bow, Robin pulled back on the string, aiming at an imaginary target before lowering it, amusement colouring his words. "In truth, I probably had little reason to show off back then. I'm sure at that stage my skill existed largely in my own head."

"Of course Robin. I know of no other reason to do such a thing."
She watched him pull back the string, her arms folding across her chest as she stared in amusement. Laughing, she looked at the ground before glancing back up at him.
"Well my young self was rather impressed."

"No indeed. What other reason might two people in love have to spend a night together?"
He held out the bow for her to take back. "Impressed, were you? You were certainly reluctant to admit as much to me at the time, as I recall." He could remember many an occasion when she had simply roller her eyes, insisting his behaviour was juvenile.

"I certainly can not think of any reasons."
She took the bow from him, holding it loosely by her side. Laughing, she recalled those times he was mentioning, when he tried to impress her and she acted as if there was nothing impressive about him at all. Brushing a piece of hair behind her ear, she shrugged.
"I did not want to inflate your ego any more than I had to."

"No, I imagine you probably try very hard not to think of other reasons."
Robin crossed his arms, looking back at her doing his best to appear as if he was offended by her words, which he wasn't in the slightest. "Well thank you very much. I'm quite sure my ego needed all the help it could get back then, with friends like you." He was almost laughing, not able to contain it as he spoke.

"That...is probably more true."
She blushed, but could not help but giggle a little. Looking at him as he tried not to laugh, she rolled her eyes, watching him fail miserably. Grinning, she dropped the bow, moving to place a hand on his crossed arms.
"Your ego has always been far too big," she said with a cheeky grin.

"I know it is definitely more true. That is why I said it."
He looked down at the bow, then back up at her. "Fine archer you make, always dropping your weapon," he teased. "And I'll have you know my ego is the perfect size, thank you very much. Certainly not too big."

"You know, do you? And what makes you so certain?"
She laughed, following his gaze to the bow when he mentioned it. She didn't really have anywhere else to put it but the floor, so when she wanted it out of her hands she had no option but to drop it. Raising her eyebrow as he spoke, she smirked.
"It really is far too big, Robin. You just wont admit it to yourself."
