"That is awful."
Marian listened to her story of why she was here, and could not help but see the similarities. However when Robin said it only because of him, she raised her eyebrow.
"My father was the Sheriff of Nottingham, until Prince John took over giving out the shires. I could not bear seeing those that needed help suffer, and of course I had my own problems. I was almost married, the threat to my father driving me to that but luckily...I was stopped in time," she could not help the small smile directed at Robin. "And well, after being put under house arrest, I finally took up Robin's insistent offers to join him."

Robin winked when she directed her smile at him, not saying anything until she had finished speaking.
"Hardly insistent offers, my love. Mere suggestions, on occasion, was all." He said with a smirk, before the two women could continue their sharing of stories.
He had a feeling it could go on for a long time, and that he would not enjoy the experience at all.

"Robin, you only prove my statements of your egotistcal issues. I mean look, you practially itch waiting for us to stop talking. You look like if you aren't the center of our attention, you may just die." Mary rolled her eyes, laughing.
"That's awful Marion, I do not understand why you should take such hits for this." Mary gave a sympathetic smile, so she wasn't all alone in this.

"That's not true, Mary. It's only that I happen to like talking about things that are interesting, and important too. If I liked being the centre of attention, then I wouldn't..."
Robin trailed off, not able to come up with a sufficient end to the sentence. "Well, my point stands. I don't actually need to be. It just happens that way."

Mary smirked, her eyebrows raising in mock surprise, "Really? You don't need to be the centre of attention? Because you had to disagree with it, and couldn't even bring up a viable justification, as to why you aren't the centre of attention. Admit it, you love the attention."
"Your ego grows even now, I fear it is advancing the unknown lands beyond our costs. The savages that may lie beyond will have no chance in escaping!"

"Robin you have always needed to be the center of attention, even as children. I do not know how many times you tried to grab my attention away from others by showing of your skills with your bow, trying to impress me."
To be honest, she knew that as a child such things had impressed her, and she often begged Robin to show her how to do such things. As much as even then she had disagreed with unnecessary fighting, she still found his abilities as something to be admired.

Robin put his hands on his hips, scowling.
"You begged me to show you. That is hardly a fair example, Marian." He winked. "Besides, I seem to recall you always loved it."
Sighing dramatically, Robin pouted. "If you both insist on ganging up on me, I might just have to leave you both to it.

Marian blushed a little, looking down. Trying not to smile, she slowly drew her eyes back up to him.
"I was easily impressed back then. Besides, we were betrothed then, I knew there had to be something good about you that my father saw. You knew I wanted to train to fight back then and must have used your archery skills to impress me. I only acted impressed."
It was all a lie of course, she was always impressed, always excited that the young man before her was the one she would latter marry. At his words, Marian laughed, breaking away from Mary to wrap her arms around his neck.
"I thought you were tough?"

Robin crossed his arms. "Oh, I see how it is. All just deception. Don't worry, I have learnt my lesson. I will never try to impress you in such a way again. I wonder how it is I have managed to fall for such a wicked woman."
When she wrapped her arms around his neck, Robin rolled his eyes. "Well, naturally. You two do make a formidable combination, however."
