"Not to me anyway."
Soon it was like a game, and she found herself laughing as she hit him with her bow again. It was like the times when they were children and would run around Locksley or the castle, chasing one another.

Robin laughed, moving back out of her hold when she hit him again. "Now that is not nice, Marian. Whether you think I am frightening or not."
He wrapped his arms around her neck, holding her at arms length. "I can always change my mind and seek my vengeance today."

She giggled as he held her, but from a distance, and she managed to hit his leg once again. Raising her eyebrow at his words, she felt a challenge coming on. Smirking, she stepped a little closer to him.
"Do your worst."
She was not scared for a moment, she never was when it came to him.

"My worst? My worst. Hmm. I don't think I could inflict such a thing upon you, Marian."
He dropped his hand from her shoulder, reaching behind him and wrapping his hand around her bow where she was hitting it against his leg, pulling it from her grasp and bringing it down beside them. His own bow remained hooked over his shoulder.
"So tell me. What do you think my worst is?"

She pouted a little when he grasped the bow from her, watching as he held it tightly. Well that was far from fair. But then he was questioning her thoughts and she could not help the cheeky grin. Shrugging, she stepped closer.
"I do not know. but i am not frightened of it."

"How do you know you are not frightened of it if you do not know what it is?" He smirked.
He stepped back from her, holding out the bow so that she could take it back from him. She was so incredibly adorable when she sulked, and yet he loved the way she looked when she thought he had given in, too.

"Because I know you would not harm me."
That was the only think she could be frightened of, if he hurt her. But he never would, she knew that. When he handed back the bow, she grinned brightly, stepping forward to take it.

"Well of course I wouldn't," he said, his tone slightly more serious, even as he continued to joke.
He smirked, rolling his eyes when she took the bow back. She looked like a child being given a toy they had been denied. "Still. If it surprised you enough that it gave you a shock, that could be frightening."

She grinned when she had the bow in her hands, taking the opportunity to hit him with it again. He had turned serious for a moment, but it had soon disappeared and he was joking with her again.
"I doubt you could surprise me that much."

Robin took a step back. "I think you've beat me up just about enough now, don't you? And when I am so gravely wounded, too," he joked, referring to his still aching jaw, which was hardly a wound at all.
"I will have you know that if I wanted to I could surprise you so well you wouldn't know what had happened."

"I don't think so. And that is not exactly a wound, Robin. It is a bump that will stop hurting soon."
She raised her eyebrow at his words, contemplating what he said. Could he really surprise her? After all the years that she has known him, was it even possible for him to surprise her?
"I still doubt you could."

"I bet you'd call it a wound if it had happened to you."
It was always so funny when she got this way when they joked. Defensive, and convinced she was right. "You only doubt that because it has been so long since I have bothered to try. I'd hate to shock you too much, Marian."

"Men like to complain about anything, even the smallest amount of pain. I doubt I would complain as much as you are," she teased.
She put her hands on her hips, watching him. So that was his excuse? That he had not tried. Perhaps he knew she was not so easy to shock now that she had grown.
"Perhaps you have stopped trying because you do not have anything to shock me with."

"Men do not complain about even the smallest amount of pain. And I certainly do not. I was simply mentioning it."
He rolled his eyes when she put her hands on her hips. And here he was thinking she was being defensive before. "Yes, that must be it Marian. I have stopped trying because I don't think I could shock you. You are absolutely correct," he said, patronising her.

"You complain all the time."
She frowned a little at the tone he used, not entirely happy with the way it sounded. She knew she was pouting, but couldn't help it. She hated it when he spoke to her like she was a child.
"Right."
