Robin smiled when he saw her blush, unable to resist. He decided he liked the blush even more than the dress.
When he saw her roll her eyes, his smile became a laugh. "Right then, no sharing blankets. I think we can sort something out."
Robin leaned close, whispering in her ear as if he thought Much might overhear him, "Just don't let on to Much that you know it is squirrel. He becomes rather defensive, insisting it is chicken."

Marian nodded in agreement that they could sort something else out. She knew she would sleep well, since the sun would soon be rising and she had been up all night, talking to Robin. But when it came to it, she was glad she did.
"We will find some sort of arrangement, I'm sure."
Of course, that arrangement would still have her sleeping close to Robin, just not close enough that they can share a blanket. Suddenly, he lowered his mouth until it was just next to her ear. Giggling a little at his choice of words, she turned her head to look at him.
"I'll keep that in mind."

Robin let the moment linger longer than was necessary, his breath ghosting over her neck. She smelled intoxicating, like flowers, and something distinctly Marian.
Moving back to look at her, he smiled, still caught in the pure happiness of the moment, taking one of her hands and placing it against his palm, comparing the two. His long fingers made her hand look so small and delicate, so fragile. And yet he knew what strength those hands contained. Weaving his fingers through hers, Robin gave her a grin,
"Perhaps with you in the forest we can take some time to improve your fighting skills?" He was being purposefully aggravating, and he knew it. He loved it when she got mad at him. Somehow it only enhanced her beauty.

Marian watched as he played with her hands, smiling a little at the complete difference. She allowed him to weave his fingers through hers, her smile pretty much constant. She was so happy that she had finally decided to stay with him forever. Their future was starting.
"There's nothing wrong with my fighting skills!" she said, pulling back a little and almost letting go of his hand.
She'd been taught to fight, she knew how. just because she didn't rush into every opportunity to fight didn't mean she lacked the knowledge. She just wanted to only fight when neccessary.

Wrapping his fingers around hers, Robin gave her a placating smile, even as he continued to tease her.
"Of course you are, Marian." He knew she was, of course, though his tone was completely patronising. Where would be the fun in letting her think he agreed?
"No doubt you have no troubles against the castle guards, but they are hardly worthy opponents. Cowardly fools, the lot of them. They could not harm a fly." He barely considered them to be a concern, rarely factoring them into any plans he made.
Robin yawned, and it reminded him that he could not recall when he had last had a decent nights rest.
"If I am tired, you must be exhausted, Marian. We should consider using these last few hours before dawn to sleep." Robin had no idea why he always wanted to show some form of superiority over others, even when it was done subtley. It came as second nature to him.

Marian could feel him holding her hand tighter, stopping her from stepping away. So he was back to teasing her? At least that meant they weren't arguing at all anymore.
"So perhaps I need to know fighting technicques that work against a certain outlaw," she said with a grin. Of course, she was teasing back, she couldn't help it.
Marian smiled a little when he yawned, glancing at him with affection in her eyes. But of course, with him yawning she soon found herself yawning too.
"Perhaps we should. Is there somewhere I can sleep?"

Robin grinned at the cheeky nature of her question.
"A certain outlaw? Well, unless you refer to Much, I doubt we should bother. You would not stand a chance, my lady."
Hearing her yawn that mirrored his own, Robin contemplated her request.
"I am almost reluctant to take you into camp at this late hour, when the others need their rest. Perhaps, if you will allow it..."
He trailed off, tightening his grip on her hand and leading her over to a tree that stood tall and proud close by. Sinking down to lean his back against its trunk, he pulled her down to lean against his chest, setting his bow on the ground beside him, close at hand for if it was needed. It was a warm night, and he did not expect they would be bothered by the cold. He wrapped his arms around her gently, in readiness for her objections.

"You never know, I might surprise you," she said with a grin.
She knew that she wouldn't stand a chance if she had to fight Robin, something she didn't exactly plan on doing, but that didn't mean she couldn't tease him about such a situation.
"Of course, I wouldn't want to disturb them."
She was already pretty much intruding as it was, she didn't want to push her luck by risking waking the rest of the gang. She allowed him to pull her in a direction, wondering what his plan was, her eyes going wide when she realised what he was doing. She didn't have enough time to protest, as he pulled her down and against his chest, his arms going around her.
"Robin we can't lie out in the open. And like this, what will your men think?"
She knew that people often jumped to conclusions when a man and a woman were laying this close to each other in such an intimate way.

"Surprise me, Marian? I look forward to letting you astound me."
He knew when he spoke in such a way it bothered her, but he could hardly let that stop him.
Laughing at her shocked question, Robin simply wrapped his arms even more tightly around her. "We are hardly in the open, my love. And are you truly concerned about the opinion of a bunch of...smelly outlaws?"
Robin thought it was such a strange part of her personality. On the one hand, she could be a ferocious fighter, risking life and limb. And on the other...she was still so innocent, reminding him she was untouched by so much. She had not seen the horrors he had, and he hoped that she never did. Though because of this, he knew now they would always be so very different in the ways that they viewed the world.

Marian melted into him when his arms tightened around her, her eyes closing for a moment. He was right, they were still safe, and she knew that Robin would keep them both safe. She trusted him so much, and knew that no matter what he would not let any harm come to her.
"I agree about the smelly outlaw bit," she said with a grin, turning her head to look up at him. "But I'll get use to you I suppose."
She loved this part of their relationship, the ability to tease each other without it usually being taken seriously. Leaning her head back, she cuddled up to him, watching him for a moment.

Looking down at her, Robin adopted a hurt expression.
"You think I'm a smelly outlaw? Well, that's the last time I put any effort towards ignoring your overpowering stench of noble."
Threading his fingers through hers, Robin leaned his head down and kissed the side of her neck where it was not hidden by her hair. If his time in the Holy Land had been hell, then this must surely be heaven, he mused.

"Ah you mean cleanliness?" she responded, laughing a little at him.
Marian held his hand tightly, her eyes closing a little when his lips touched her neck. Smiling, she turned her head a little, placing a gentle kiss against his lips. It seemed far too perfect, but she wanted to keep a hold of the calm moment between them in case anything happened. At least she'd have this memory.
"I guess I can put up with this smelly outlaw."

Robin laughed quietly, kissing her back, first once, and then a second time. And a third. Just because he could.
"That is very considerate of you, Marian. Not everyone would be so willing to put up with something so off putting. Others could learn much from your fine example."
Leaning his head back against the tree, Robin was unable to spoil the moment for himself by thinking about the fact that in no more than a few short hours, dawn would arrive, bringing with it a whole new set of troubles for him to face.

Marian giggled with each kiss, pretending to push him away. The truth was, she knew she wouldn't be able to say to no him, or to push him away from her. It would hurt her too much, never mind him.
"I think they could learn from my example also."
She found herself moving as close to him as she could, not wanting to be seperated from him for a moment and not caring what the others would think about it. She was happy, and so was he, and that was all that mattered.

Keeping his arms wrapped around her, Robin let her last words wash over him, his eyelids drooping.
Marian was a warm, comforting weight against his chest, and he soon succumbed to his exhaustion.
