"Good .... let's go again .... and remembera good opponent will not just look for weaknesses, they will turn your strengths against you as well .... ready!"
"Right" She said with a smile.
This time she lunged the sword at him before swinging her body around for an attack. She knew that this move was a little risky and would probably go wrong but she tried it anyway.

She was learning .... and learning quickly ..... and her new strategy would have worked well .... if he would have reacted the same way he did before. However, being a carpenter by trade .... and not a wordsmith .... he had learned early in life to be ambidextrous. So, he was just as comfortable spinning in the opposite direction as he had spun in their first .
Unfortunately this meant not only that her lunge was extended in a place where he wasn't, but her unprotected belly was left wide open, and that's where his sword ended up, and he had used his other hand to pull her in close, which would have left her no option for defense, only surreder, since he was inside her defensive screen. He had never been this close to her .... where he could lookinto her eyes so closely and get a whiff of her natural scent.
" ..... um .... a risky move Amelia, but well worth it. Most you will face will not be as good with the left as with the right .... and you would have run them through .... the heart." Will looked down, somewhat red in the face and embarrassed. "You learn quickly ... I think with relatively little hand-to-hand practice you would nake an excellent addition to any group of outlaws."

Amelia couldn't help but smile and blush as Will held her close. She would be very happy working along side a group of good outlaws like Will and his friends.
"How good at you at hand-to-hand?" She asked.

"How good at you at hand-to-hand?"
Will didn't really want to release her, but after a few moments did, though still a bit red he was sure.
"It depends on what you mean .... if you mean just hands or including smaller weapons like knives and daggers. In either case, I wouldn't expect to be any better than I am with a sword," he smiled.

Amelia smiled at this. She was still slightly red in the face and could barely bring herself to look at him.
"My brother taught me how to fight without weapons" She said finally looking up at him. "He taught me to use my body as a weapon"

Will noticed the difficulty she was having looking him in the eye, as well as tthe reddish tint to her cheeks.
"My brother taught me how to fight without weapons" She said finally looking up at him. "He taught me to use my body as a weapon."
"I am surprised that it was necessary for your brother to give you any pointers on using your body as a weapon. Just by appearance its obvious that it is quite a tool to be used against any man who is in close proximity. However, show me what skills your brother has taught you."

"After what happened back in Ireland he wanted me to be able to protect myself." She said as she put the sword down. "He knew that he would not always be there to protect me"
She looked over at Will before standing in her fighting stance.

"After what happened back in Ireland he wanted me to be able to protect myself .... He knew that he would not always be there to protect me."
Will thought that was a wise precaution and a good attitude for her bother to take. It was always better to be save than sorry. For this first round Will decided not to test her defensive abilities directly. He was going to try to get her to take some offensive action. As soon as she went into a defensive stance, he responded in kind, while attempting to circle her, waiting for her to respond.

Amelia watched as Will circled her. She waited for an opening before she would advance.
'Don't let me hurt him' She thought to herself as she prepared to attack. She swung her arm, fist clenched at Will.

Will thought to himself .... 'this isn't working .... she's waiting for an opening .... just as I am'. Will decided that he would make an opening by appearing to stumble, the move in opposite direction.
As he did that he saw her punch begin and hoping that his misdirection would allow her to barely miss him, he stuck out hs right foot to hook her right foot as she went flying past. He sure hoped that these tests of skill wouldn't result in serious injuries for either one of them.

Amelia tripped over Will's foot. She went stumbling forward but didn't fall. She turned around to look at him.
"Sneaky" She said with a smile as she advanced to wards him again. This time she lifted her leg to kick. Her reach was quite good as she came level with his shoulder.

Will thought about what he had seen so far. She deinitely had good balance, and was a quick learner. Definitely not someone to be underestimated.
He kick, and more specifically her reach came as a bit of a surprise to him. He had to jump back and twist to avoid her move. As soon as he hit the ground he swung his feet in a wide arc, aiming to gather at least one of her feet up in a tangle.
He did catch one of her feet, and it caused him to have enough time and space to scramble to his feet once more. "Very good .... you are quite athletic ..... you don't make the same mistake twice ..... and you learn quickly. those all make you quite a challenge."

Amelia couldn't help but smile as she looked up at him from the floor.
"Thanks" She said. "Dinner is probably done and my father should have returned by now"

"Thanks .... Dinner is probably done and my father should have returned by now," she said.
Will extended a helping hand and easily hauled her up. Will was so lean he sometimes looked just this side of being malnourished, when he really wasn't. Overall, he was deceptively strong, which didn't seem to go with his appearance.
"I'm sure that Robin would give you a go. Just so you know, I'm not really with them anymore. I stay in and around Locksley. Will you or your mother need any help .... anything you need carried in?"

"I am sure there will be something you can help carry" She said as they headed back to her house. "My father does not have much strength left when her returns home"
As they approached the house she saw the familiar shape of her father in the doorway. She walked over and hugged him.
"Father. This is Will, he fixed the roof for us" She said with a smile as she introduced him.
"I know. You're mother has already filled me in" He said as he walked forward. "It is good to meet you" He held out his hand.
