"Because...You know it's a lie?" she offered with a laugh.
Of course the gang discussed Robin with her. Usually it was because she knew him well and seemed to be one of the only ones who could control him. Other times, they all acted like the village gossip.
"Then we can sit, if that's what you rather."

"See? I knew it. Go on then...tell me what you say about me." Typical, he thought. Turn your back for five minutes, sick or not, and look what it got you.
He leaned sideways, his cheek resting against the top of her head where it rested on his shoulder. "I would rather rest," he said quietly.

"Nothing! They just...know I know how to handle you sometimes. Usually they are pestering me for details on why we take such a long time even doing something as simple as looking for wood for the fire."
She grinned when he moved to lean against her head. She was glad that he had finally decided to admit he had to rest, and as long as he was she was happy.
"Good."

"You do not know how to handle me. And since when do you have these conversations with them? Where am I during all of this?"
He pulled away, moving to sit on his bunk with his legs stretched out, looking back at her. "Just this one time, because you pestered me."
He lay back, staring at the canopy above him, not at all enjoying the thought of being in bed, all of a sudden. What was he supposed to do in bed, during the day? Sleep?

"I can at times," she said with a grin, before looking up at him. "Oh off doing some heroic thing you like doing."
She was teasing him, obviously, but the conversations did take place. Usually whispered out of Robin's ear shot so they did not risk and telling off by their leader.
She watched as he moved to get comfortable, grinning brightly. Shifting herself, she moved so her arm was around his waist.
"I did not pester you."

"You just think you can. It is me letting you win so you do not become too disheartened." He frowned. "Some heroic thing? Like when I am sitting making my arrows and pretending not to hear you all whispering?"
When she put her arm across his waist, he thought of their earlier, more serious conversation, wondering if he could let himself fall asleep so willingly, with her close by.

"Of course it is," she said with a grin.
When he spoke of the times he had heard them whispering she blushed a little. She always tried to stop them talking about such matters, private things between her and Robin. Even if nothing had happened.
"Probably then, yes."

He closed his eyes, letting it go, knowing it was all just part of their constant bickering. The day they stopped arguing was the day Robin wondered what was going wrong with their relationship.
"I know you will probably ignore me, but you don't have to stay. I can't imagine watching me sleep would be an interesting way to spend your time."

"I want to stay with you, Robin. I am sure I will find some way to occupy myself."
She sat her head on his chest, smiling a little. It felt good to be this close to him, making sure he seemed all right and taking care of him. Even if he did not like it.

"Well, as long as it's what you want," he said, amused.
Robin brought a hand up to rest against her head, his fingers playing with her hair absently as he felt his eyes grow heavy. He blinked slowly, trying to keep them open, not wanting to fall asleep so quickly.

"Of course it is."
She smiled when his fingers began to run through her hair, his movements calming her slightly. She could feel his breathing even slightly and she looked up at him, only to see him fighting sleep.
"If you want to sleep, sleep."

Robin had every intention of answering her, but he couldn't get his mouth to form the words. He suddenly couldn't find the energy. He felt his hand slide from her hair, boneless, even as his eyes fell closed again. He tried to fight the feeling, tried to get them to open again, but they refused to cooperate. His body was giving up on trying to stay awake even as his mind refused to rest.

Marian smiled when his hand slipped from her hair, waiting a few moments before chancing a glance at him. His eyes were closed, and she sighed, leaning her chin on his chest for a moment, just watching him.
It was good he finally decided to sleep. After all, sleep usually helped a fever die down a little, and hopefully when his eyes opened again he would be feeling a lot better.

Robin frowned when he felt something on his chest, his head turning sideways against the blanket, his hand reaching up sluggishly beside his face.
He mumbled something incoherent, his eyes opening slightly beneath heavy lashes. "Marian..." It was barely a whisper. The corners of his lips twitched in a smile. "Marian, I want..."

Marian was glancing around the camp, seeing if there was anything she could do if she could manage to slip away from him. Then he was moving, and she quickly looked up, checking if something was wrong. When he spoke her name, she could not help the smile, reaching up to take the hand next to his head and kissing it lightly.
"I'm here," she whispered, even though she knew he was probably dreaming. Then he was smiling, and she frowned for a moment, pushing herself up to hover over him. "You want what?" she asked, knowing he probably wouldn't reply to her.
