Much crouched down to slot a piece of wood into the middle of the cooking fire. The rabbit was almost done but not quite 10 more minuets might do it or maybe just 5 he didn’t want to risk it over cooking. It was an over cast day at the camp had a gloomy feel about it with no one really speaking much. Much got to his feet stretching his arms as he stood up glancing out the entrance to their camp and surveying the sky. It looked like it was going to rain at any second and a damp camp was not a happy camp.
There had been just I little to much rain recently for his liking and Much actually quite liked the rain. It made the Forest smell nice, cleaner than it usually did. His mind wander to the last time he had had a proper bath all those many months ago the day He and robin had returned to Locksley after 5 long years in the Holy Land. That warm water that smelled of roses with a plate of something good to eat on the table next to him. The thought made his feet slightly warmer until a clap of thunder sounded and broke him back to reality. Light droplets of rain began to drop filling the camp with the pitted patter of drops.
He wasn’t going to let that dampen his spirits the rabbit was almost done and his belly rumbled loudly signalling time for dinner. Much viewed the rabbit. It was pretty pathetic, small and thin with very little meat on it. These days it was getting harder and harder to catch a good sized rabbit did they know he had set traps for him and left? Will always managed to catch good rabbit what was the difference when it came to him?
“Right, lets not let the rain dampen our spirits “Much said optimistically “ We are all alive and there is food”.

Anya lay down flat on her make shift bunk she had put together in the far corner of the outlaw camp. She had been watching Much cooking smiling to her self as she watched him, his quirky little was where very amusing and there was little else going on that she could entertain her self with. The weather was rubbish the camp smelled no one was talking, ohh what fun. Using her elbow to push her self up she pulled over a piece of cloth that lay abandoned at the bottom of her bed and threaded the needle. She could do with a new top, at the moment she was wearing a dirty old one that had belonged to Much and Much was a lot bigger than she was. The top dwarfed her and she had had to role up the sleeves many times until she found her hands again.
Or maybe seeing as the rubbish was so terrible almost all the time a new scarf might be appropriate. Anya couldn’t make up her mind a top would take longer but and a scarf would only keep her neck warm. She settled on top and ripped off a large section of cloth. The smell of cooking animal was wafting over in her direction causing her to sit up slightly straighter. The rabbit was small how on earth was that going to feed every one let along Much and his large appetite.
“Much that rabbits offal small “

His eyes rose slowly to look at her his face falling in to a scowl. Yes it was a small rabbit but he could tell what she meant. He new it, this was how it started next they would accuse him of cooking them rat. Rat! Not in a million years he even dream of cooking a rat, they where vermin literally. He did the same as the rest of them, handing out food to the poor and helping in all Robins plans to steel money. Plus he had to cook and keep the place reasonably clean so they had no right to complain.
“Yes it is small “he said not taking his eyes off her “it is a small rabbit. If I’ve said it once ill say it again there are very few rabbits around here these days and wee give away all the chicken. So … So don’t complain!”
The camp suddenly lit up as lighting flashed across the sky and was quickly followed by a loud crack of thunder. So much for not letting the rain lower the spirits now he was in a bad mood. Ohh why did he have to be an out law? Being an outlaw was only fun when you had something to do, some goal to archive. This was just mind numbingly boring.
“And if you don’t believe that its rabbit don’t eat it…more for me “

Anya tried best she could to keep a straight face and look apprehensive. If no one else was going to provide some entertainment then she would just have to wind up Much. The rain was getting harder and had begin to trickle in threw the entrance to the camp making a growing puddle in the middle. Rain had also started to drip threw a tiny whole above her makeshift bed. Anya jumped in her skin as a large drop landed on her cheek and sent a chill down her spine. She stuffed the piece of material in her hand in to the whole and made a mental note to ask Will to repair it when every one was in a better mood.
“Much are you sure it wasn’t a rat with big ears?” Anya asked stuffing the needle in to a small wooden box filled with thread. It was hard to keep a straight face when she looked at the look on his face. I guess she should feel bad for winding him up. It obviously annoyed him so maybe she should leave him be.
Her eyes wandered over to where Allen was sitting dozing lazily. She was glad he had come back. Anya had only been with Robin a few weeks when they trapped in the barn with an army of 100 waiting to kill them. Allan had returned in nick of time to fight along side them. Anya had been apprehensive of him at first. For the time that she had been here she had known him as Gisbornes man and she had heard of how he had betrayed them feeding Girsobrne information. Now that she had got to know him she had come to realize why he had done it, she wouldn’t do it her self but she could see where Allan was coming from.
“I’ll have a bit but if it turns out to be rat then ill get you” she said a small smile curling its way on t her face.”

“Rat” his voice was shrill and his face turned from mildly irritated to hurt “I would never dream of it”.
Much took the rabbit off the fire and sat it down on the wooden table Will had made a fee weeks ago. He cut off a bit off meat and sat himself down on his bed stuffing some food into his mouth and keeping his eyes away from Anya. When would they let this go? He would have thought robin would stand up for him but apparently not. Much looked around the camp. Where was Robin anywhere he had said he was only nipping out for some fire wood but that was close to an hour ago. This was one of those things. He had most likely gone off to meet Marian which means when he returned they would have some task to complete.
The rain had begun to pass and rays of sunlight where finding there way in to the camp giving it a lighter atmosphere. Much let his head rest on t he wall of the camp and closed his eyes chewing his food slowly letting his mind wander to warmer and better times trying his hardest to ignore Anya and her teasing.

She felt bad she shouldn’t have teased him so much but things where just so boring. Anya got to her feet stretching her arms in to the air and closing her eyes tightly. For once she was a little tired. The sound of the pounding rain had kept her up most of the night and she had ended up just tossing and turning all night. She had found Allan’s face creeping in to her mind as she tried in vane to get to sleep and it embarrassed her. Of course no one could read her mind so know one new how she felt but she still didn’t like the fact she was thinking about him that way.
After a long and refreshing stretch she walked over to Much’s bunk with a spring in her step and plopped her self down at his feet. She though it was best to cheer him up she much and he was always around when she wanted some one to talk to so it was best to keep in his good books.
“Ano sorry “ Anya said picking up a small piece of rabbit and popping it in to her mouth “ Much I’m hopeless with a bow and now that I’m part of the gang I guess I should really learn.
Anya thought this might cheer him up he always liked to help plus she really was hopeless with a bow. As a girl she had always been more interested in swords it involved more contact.

Robin wanders in to the camp his hair sopping wet from the long ongoing rain. As he passed Anya he shook his head trying to get his hair out of his eyes and gave her a cheeky grin just in case he showered her with droplets of water. The atmosphere in the camp was intolerable and he had only been here a few brief seconds.
“Ohh come on cheer up” he said cheerfully plucking up a nice plumpish looking piece of meat and sitting down on his bunk, “it’s like a grave yard in here”. He glanced from Anya to Much and sensed some tension. Much looked as though he was in one of his amusing strops which was most likely caused by Anya and Anya looked as though she was enjoying her self a great deal. While surveying the camp he noticed that 4 key figures where missing.
“Where is Allan will John and Djaq ? “ He said not able to keep the concern out of his voice.
