His trademark expression is "I'm not being funny, but...". Always seen as the less deep and moral of the gang, he's the first to have a laugh... especially when it comes down to tease Much.[/size]

fears ,
Allan is afraid of finding himself alone again after the adventure with the gang will be over and to have to start again his life on the run not having any family to turn to.
overall personality , He's the cheeky one, always ready for a sarcastic remark or a good laugh. Having been used to the life on the road (and on the run) for a while he knows a few tricks... and is not afraid of using them. Especially if this means earning a few coins to keep for himself.
His life has given him a rather 'careless' façade that he's always ready to show... probably to hide his deepest feelings and fears. Especially after the death of his younger brother he's aware of his loneliness outside the gang and he questions his future after this. Thing that brings him, under torture, to accept Sir Guy's offer and become his spy in the camp for money.
Currently in this double-face role he's conflicted about what he's doing. He's well aware of how wrong is this path he's choosing, but at the moment doesn't find the strenght to stop... finding a few excuses to justify himself. Although he's not giving the gang completely away and he's doing his best to protect Marian.
A deeper and more tormented person of what it may seem after a first look.

roleplay sample ,
Here they were again... back at the camp after another failed attempt of finally stealing the famous pact Robin longed for.
He tried to make himself comfortable on the make-shift bed in the cold wind of the late evening, the darkness surrounding the camp as a mirror to their feelings.
Not even Much had the strenght or the will to try and get something cooked for 'his master' or even himself, for the matter. They were all low of spirits that night. Not a single understanding smile or stolen glance in between Will and Djaq either. Not a distant sigh coming from Robin as he gazed at the sky, probably thinking of his Marian.
He couldn't blame them... they had been so close this time!
And yet, they had failed once again.
The reason? Him. Allan A Dale. The resident two-faced spy.
The one who had faithfully made plans with the others for two long days, plotting and planning their move with the help of stolen info from Marian... and then had nonchalantly gone to Sir. Guy of Gisborne and told him everything, making the plan and the consequent action useless.
Well, he hadn't told Guy everything, actually.
He had refrained to make her name.
Sure, Gisborne had wondered... had wanted to know how was it possible that they knew a messenger was arriving at the castle... but he hadn't said a word. A shrug was enough... just like the hard slap across his face that followed, as usual.
Was it worth it?
And what for? For a slice of bread? For a chicken's leg?
He didn't know... he honestly couldn't explain himself how someway he had got so tangled. The only thing he knew for sure wat that he was ready to take another thousand slaps if that meant protecting her. He could have never given Marian away.
Never.
Even though if Robin knew the real reason behind such resolution he would have probably killed Allan himself.
Not that he had any chances if the outlaws' leader eventually was going to find out what he was doing.
A silent sigh was in order as he tried to sink further inside his cloak, hiding himself from Djaq's inquisitive gaze.
He was guilty, but he had no way out.
