Her slacks tucked into the more worn black boots that she wears. On colder days, in the nights, and when she needs to shadow her personality from unwanted attention, she will don a faded purple sweater jacket that reaches to her hips, with wide sleeves and hood. Quite often she can be seen with a light brown shoulder bag, in which she keeps her most needed supplies...

overall personality , Djaq is, first and foremost, full of knowledge. Her father wanted both of his children to be well-trained and schooled, and so Djaq attained much knowledge growing up. She is brave, and always proves herself as worthy. Occasionally, she can be somewhat...mean, for want of a better word. So do not get in her way if you happen to be her enemy.
Djaq has a kind, friendly side, and will often only show it to the gang. She enjoys a good laugh, but at the same time she knows precisely when to be serious. She is somewhat headstrong, but almost always knows when to listen. And she knows when to rust and when to fight when to help someone and when to turn away. All around, Djaq is a hard person to read, and she likes it that way...

history , Djaq was born with the name Safiyya, the twin sister her brother Djaq and the daughter of Kadir and Nida Antar. Before the twins were born, Nida had been unwell, and after she had her two children, the new mother fell ill, unable to gain back her strength. She managed to happily hold and name both of her new children before she died. Kadir took the blame at his wife's death upon himself, for he was a physician and could not help her. He then took it upon himself to raise his children alone.
Djaq and Safiyya grew up with a deep bond between each other, yet both had interests in different things. Djaq enjoyed watched (and eventually training with) the Turkish soldiers in the city of Akre, whilst Safiyya followed her father around as he treated assorted patients in his line of work. She was schooled along with her father's teachings, in many things and simply drank it all in, whilst all other around her paid little to no attention to the details. As she grew, she could often be found spending time (when she was away from her father) with her uncle's friend, Basam, who looked after the pigeons for the royalties' use. Basam would always tell her that it was the closest thing they both would ever get to flying...
When Djaq and Safiyya were twenty years old, Djaq was touring other cities in Turkey (being a new soldier in the Turkish Guard). New war had started between the Turks and the English, and Akre was not as safe as it once was. Safiyya came home one day a short time before the twins' birthday, to find it ransacked, items stolen or strewn across the floor. Amongst all the rubble, she found her father, lying motionless on the floor. He had received a blow to the back of the neck, causing instant death. After recovering from the shock of it all, Safiyya sent a letter to Djaq via the doves, telling him the news, as well as to come home immediately. But it was only days later that she received a letter of her own, informing her that her brother had died in a battle that was struck up between the English and the Turks. Safiyya knew then, she was completely alone. But she did not want to be cared for; she wanted to make her own way.
On an impulse, Safiyya sheered her hair to the cut her brother had had before he died. Knowing that women were not allowed on the battlefields, she changed into her brother's clothing, grabbed up her father's brown medic bag, and made her way out into the desolate scene of the battlefields, treating her own kind. Whenever questioned, she would state that she was a physician for the soldiers. During this short time, Safiyya was abandoned and Djaq lived again. Little did she know that this would be the cause of more hardships.
As she was kneeling beside one dying Turk soldier, attempting to bandage up his stab wound, she heard an unexpected voice behind her, asking what her name was. Out of instinct, she answered her brother's name and her profession. “a physician?” the man repeated with interest, and Djaq knew then that the man was English. Shock seizing her heart, she felt her arm being grabbed and she was wrenched to her feet, turned around to face the man clad in darker clothing, not bearing the red cross of the Crusaders. “Reckon I could use you, boy.” Darting her eyes around, Djaq spotted a barred cage, filled halfway with other Turkish men, all of them young and strong. She knew what was coming then.
Struggling to break free, she was dragged towards the cage. This was only the beginning...[oh it's horrid, I'm sorry...]

roleplay sample ,
Djaq heaved a sigh, plopping down on her bunk and dropped her shoulder bag over a hook that Will had hammered in to the support beam by her bed. She gave a faint smile at the thought that someone would think of her so much to put a hook their for her medic bag. That was just Will, and that was what he did.
She attempted to fight back a yawn as she blinked the exhaustion away in vain. The gang had just gotten back from the most tiring mission in all of Djaq's life here. The treatment of the evicted families who lived underneath the bridge of Nottingham's gates. Djaq would be (of course) assigned the medical duties, such as treating the coughs that had been contracted from sleeping in the cold nights, to treating small but infected cuts of the children. And of course, if any noble, guard, master at arms, or sheriff should pass over the gates, the gang were forced to dive into cover right under the bridge, where damp dirt lay ready for them. This resulted, as Djaq noted looking around now, in all of the outlaws being caked with mud and stray hay and whatever else Djaq really didn't want to think about. No doubt, this meant more illnesses from the outlaws who now stood around her. Rolling her eyes, she rolled onto her back and felt the thin pillow form to her head, as she let out a comfortable sigh.
She then began taking mental notes of how to treat the weak Englishmen around her once they began the coughing, sneezing and whining that they so often did, or so Djaq thought they did.
It was then that she gave out a painful sneeze, and her eyes grew wide. Hehe, it's nothing, she thought to herself as she tried to console her fears-- sneeze... The camp exploded into laughter as she gave an annoyed groan...
