Guy cantered through the steadily thinning trees of Sherwood Forest, the flanks of his black horse rising and falling rhythmically beneath him. He'd been on yet another expedition into the forest, searching desperately for any sign of Hood and the outlaws. The Sheriff was getting more and more agitated with the lack of progress and Guy was the one that suffered. He'd been subjected to progressively more harsh treatments and he was reaching the end of his tether. Still, even this most recent search had turned up nothing. It was in a foul mood that Guy rode back towards Nottingham. He wasn't in a hurry. The sooner he got back, the sooner he'd have to explain that there were still no leads. Even with Allan's input, there wasn't much he could do. The spy's messages came so sporadically, Guy couldn't make plans until the last minute. This haphazard approach meant that Hood had remained illusive this far. Still, Guy was determined he'd catch him soon, if just to put his mind at rest.
Guy was so deep in thoughts that he didn't even notice the woman standing alone in the clearing his horse had just cantered into. It wasn't until the surprised steed reared up, startled by the obstacle in it's path. It was all Guy could do to hold on and stay in the saddle. "What the...?" he yelled, trying to regain control of the reigns.

Abigail needed to get away home, feeling suffocated by the walls that surrounded her. She walked staring blankly at the sky. She had hardly slept the few nights before, staying awake to all hours thinking about everything. Her situation had been dominant in her mind and it wasn't pleasant to think about. She walked silently through the trees, manuevering around them all with slight difficulty.
She stopped in the middle of a clearing having noticed something moving on the ground. Abby stared at it absently deciding she must have been imagining something. She yawned putting her hand to her mouth and closing her eyes for a moment before hearing something behind her.
Abby looked back and screamed in shock at seeing a horse rear up at her. She slid to the side hearing the man on the horse say something but not able to make out the words. She looked back, straightening out her skirt and running her fingers through her hair. She watched as he attempted to regain control.

Guy whispered quietly to the horse as it slowly calmed down before gently sliding from the saddle. "Who are you, girl? And what are you doing out here all alone? I could have killed you." He shuddered, turning back to stroke his horse. He had been pushing her hard today, unfairly so. To be honest, he was glad of the opportunity to stop for a moment or two. It meant prolonging his meeting with the Sheriff and that was always good.
He sighed and turned back to the girl, feeling a little guilty. "Are you ok?" His voice was a little softer and less harsh in tone.

"Who are you, girl? And what are you doing out here all alone? I could have killed you."
Abby stared in shock at the harshness of his words with a vacant expression on her face. She blinked a few times trying to come up with something to say. "I'm Abigail Merton. And who are you? I was just... walking. And yes I am aware that you could have killed me," Abigail responded sharply, but still not being in the least intimidating. He, however, was quite intimidating.
"Are you ok?"
Abigail swallowed hard relieved his tone had softened slightly but still not feeling at ease with him standing there. "I'm fine, thank you," she said lightly trying not to add the sharp edge to her tone again as he had slightly be rid of his. "I'm sorry for..." she motioned to the horse slightly trying to put together what it was she was apologizing for, "startling your horse," she finally got out.
