Charlotte Bennett knew very well that she was being a bit of a procrastinator, an unusual word to describe her, as she lingered around the town square. Her utter lack of motivation caused her feet to drag as she wandered aimlessly through the bustling crowds of people. She had no intention of going back home quite yet, though she knew she would need to prepare dinner before Peter got back or he would get into an arguement with her that he had to relentlessly fight out. Perhaps that was one thing that the two had the most trouble with, they were both stubborn. Though, typically Charlotte would do her duty as the wife and let him have the satisfaction of winning. She also knew it wasn't her place to argue against his wishes, a fact she took in with much resilience.
It was indeed a day in which she was feeling very lazy, quite uncommon of a feeling to her. Char scolded herself mentally for being the thing she despised. In much of a daze, her mind lost deep in thought, she stood there in the middle of the crowds until she was brought back to reality with a harsh shove. Her eyes scanned around in an attempt to find the one who had so rudely done so, but she found it was impossible. Char slowly made her way to a less crowded area as she, yet again, tucked her brown curls behind her ear. They would not stay put, though, for long.

"Oi Get back ere' you, Im gona kill ya!"
Oh dear Anya was in trouble, she hadn’t meant to get it to trouble but it was unavoidable and unexpected. All she had done was protect her self from a couple of rowdy indecent castle guards. They may have tried to act in an inappropriate manner and Anya may have stuck said guards violently in the face with a tin pan that had been sitting in a nearby merchants stall. Luckily she had a head start in the getaway chase thanks to the tin pan and light feet. Her luck only stretched so far just as she rounded the corner that took you on to Raymond Street the two guards has amazingly appeared behind her.
“Ohh look little miss has ..”
Anya didn’t hang around to hear the end of his sentence that would no doubt provoke her in to back fighting. She turned on her heals and raced down the street her clock flaring behind her as she ran. Her plan was to make it back to the town square it was a Wednesday and the town was a full as was expected with villagers and merchants stretching money as far as was possible. With a thankful grin Anya disappeared in to the bustle of villagers looking for a leaving cart or large group of people she could attach her self to.
“There Balston there she is the little wench come on”
Ohh come on, Anya thought, this was not fair she was having a perfectly pleasant day and now look how things where turning out. She put her bad luck down to her infrequent visits to the church she would have to make more time to go. Turning to once again run her heart out Anya found her self colliding hard with something or some one in front of her.
“Aghh What…” she said with a step back her vision clouded with stars.

Charlotte's eyes searched through the crowd for any familiar faces, though this pastime was simply to fill the time. She pretended to be searching for someone in the crowd so it didn't look like she was really doing the exact thing she was doing, absolutely nothing. None of the people seemed familiar in the least. Perhaps she had simply become quite a hermit since her marriage, so she considered only Peter, her husband, as her friend. This was quite a sad case, but she had never been the kind of woman to sit and gossip about things that she did not care to talk about nor hear, which was what most of the woman she had observed liked to do.
She shifted slightly as she stood and fiddled with the necklace that hung around her pale neck. Her fingers were often busy readjusting the chain that liked to misplace itself. Char took it off to examine it. It's simplicity was perhaps what made it so beautiful. Many prided themselves in owning the largest most flashy jewelry that they could set there greedy hands on, but Charlotte prided herself in the simple necklace with a cross on it. It had been an heirloom given to her after her mother past away, and since that day she had not so much as left the house without it around her neck.
As she studied it in her cupped hands Charlotte felt someone run into her with much force. "Excuse me!" She shouted in anger. As her head snapped up seeing it was a woman somehow calmed her anger, had it been a man she would have proceeded in yelling at him at him.
Charlotte looked back down at her cupped hand to see that the necklace that once resided in it was now absent. "Oh no," Charlotte muttered as she dropped back to the ground to search for it.

Anyea shook her head trying to clear her mind and eyes of star. She didn't have time for this she needed to get out of here to a place that was safe and less exposed. Anya felt like a deer being hunted, as if some one was aiming at her with a bow that very second it was terrifying and not being able to see didn't help. Slowly her eyes began to de-star and her vision came back. She observed quickly the girl in front of her an extraordinarily beautiful girl with long lushes dark hair and a bright face. Anya could only imagine what she looked like right now, Matted hair and mud splatted face she must look the picture of wild.
"What is it?" She said hastily looking over her shoulder for any sign of the guards. "Have you lost something".
Something shiny caught Anya's attention. A Small cross on a chain had snagged on the sleeve of her tatted gray dress. Confused she pulled it off and examined it, where had it come from? Anya wore no Jewry and had never owned any so it could not have been hers and she had not yet been allowed to accompany the gang on there noble robbing Trips. Anya was always the one acting as the distraction never getting to take part in any of the real action. Something clicked in her head.
"Oh no" she said hurriedly holding out he cross"I didn't take it, please don't think i took it."
"There I see her".
Anya's insides lurched and she grabbed the girls hand dragging her in to the shadow of a near by lane. She wasn't sure why she had pulled the girl with her but there was no room in her head to think about that know not when she was being hunted.

Charlotte put her hands flat on the ground moving them around attempting to feel the chain. In frustration at not finding anything she closed her eyes to calm her dwindling nerves. Upon hearing the girl speak again she looked up at her. "Yes, I have lost something rather important to me," Charlotte responded while taking in her appearance. It was the first time she really looked at her and the sight was not so pleasant. She could barely make out the hidden beauty behind the matted blonde hair and the tattered gray dress. Char stared unmoving at her for a moment before returning to the previous task of finding the necklace.
With a grunt Charlotte stood up, thinking the necklace must have fell somewhere else. It must have gone through the air a bit or something. That was when she noticed the girl looking at it. The girl seemed to know the first thought that popped into her head. "I know you didn't take it," she lied as she took the cross from the girls hands and returned it safely around her neck, just glad to have it back and not feeling in the mood to argue.
Charlotte was taken by surprise as the guards yelled that they saw her. And knowing it wasn't her that they wanted, it was the girl, made her worry about her current position in being seen with the wanted girl.
Her thoughts were broken as she felt herself being dragged deeper into the shadows. "What's going on?" Char questioned in deep annoyance. "Who are you?" Char's hands absent mindedly moved to the cross and she held it tightly.

“Mmm Ohh nothing, nothing every thing is just fine and dandy” Anya said sarcastically, “Sorry about that just a bit of exercise.”
Anya gripped the side of the building for support and peered round scanning the crowed in front of her for any sign of the guards. The two guards where faster than she thought and where no where to be seen, she guessed they had rushed off down a near by street completely overlooking the alleyway. A sigh erupted fro her chest and slid back against the cold damp surface of the two story building. That was far to close for her liking and though she hadn’t yet though about it she had really been in far worse trouble than she had first thought. Assaulting a guard was a hanging offence and no one would take her word if she told them what they had tried to do. Anya taken aback looked the girl over momentarily confused at why she was in the murky ally way.
“What are you doing?” Anya said watching the girl completely having forgotten it was her that had dragged the girl in to the Alleyway. “Im Anya”
Maybe not the best idea, Anya thought seconds after saying her name, the last thing she needed was more trouble. She really had to stop being so willing to throw her name out to any one who asked after all she was an “outlaw” now. That was going to take some getting used to. Anya had successfully past the trial period thanks to her talent of diversion but she still felt as though he was treading on thin ice.
“Do you have a name?”

Charlotte stared at the girl, confused at what was going on. "An exercise?" She asked as she squinted her eyes slightly in order to convey her confusion. Char looked around wondering if someone was following them or something.
"What am I doing?" Char repeated in disbelief. "You dragged me in here," She didn't understand why this girl was all over the board right now. She seemed either completely unaware or worried about something and wasn't paying any attention to her. Anya, she said her names. Charlotte had never heard of an Anya.
"Yes, I do have a name," Charlotte responded looking around again. "Charlotte Bennett. Pleasure to meet you," She responded as she brought her eyes back to Anya's.
Char waited a moment before speaking again. "Look, are you going to tell me what's going on or not? Why are you running from them?" She questioned.
(Ah. Sorry that was short.)

“You dragged me in here,"
Anya blinked blankly then gave another much smaller sigh and pushed her self to her feet. They sky had darkened bringing bad news to the towns people but good news to the farmers who’s crops would finally taste water. Any second the bustling market place would be emptied as all merchants and shoppers when running for cover as large over sided droplets of rain pelted down upon them. For Anya this was a problem if the market place emptied then staying hidden would be just that little bit harder. On a happier note rain made the forest smell great, easily one of the finest smells in the world was wet pine, in Anya’s opinion.
"Charlotte Bennett. Pleasure to meet you,"
Anyas eye brows raised, did she just hear manners? Anya rarely experienced manners from towns’ folk. As a girl they would mostly glare and ignore her after all she was an illegitimate child and no one wanted there children mixing with that kind. Nowadays manners where still scares if she wasn’t being chased by guards she was being chatted up by old drunk peasants in there early 50s, not really what a young woman would want from a trip in to town.
Look, are you going to tell me what's going on or not? Why are you running from them?
“I never said anything about telling you what was going on but if you planning to escape the ghost town that is about to be Nottingham and head for the cover of the trees I will gladly rant about it all day and night.”
Anya shrugged once and stepped out of the shadows just as the first large droplet hit the ground. A Woman a few yards away snapped her head up to the sky as if she had just bean burned and quickly began to gather her children together hastily shoving them in the direction of cover. Anya found it rather amusing but she really had no time to stand around and watch the headless chickens scurry, the forest sanctuary was awaiting her.

Charlotte was getting quite annoyed with the little response that Anya was giving her. It was true she needed to get home right away but something willed her to stay here with this girl and she didn't know why she felt that way.
"Oh no. It is going to rain."
Charlotte said absently as she stared at the sky as if Anya hadn't already realized that. She figured she was trying to make small talk. Char hardly had female companions ever, or at least none that she fancied talking to. Somehow, though Anya didn't seem like the normal peasant and judging by her appearance she wasn't a normal one.
“I never said anything about telling you what was going on but if you planning to escape the ghost town that is about to be Nottingham and head for the cover of the trees I will gladly rant about it all day and night.”
Charlotte brought her eyes back to her with a deep curiousity in them as she studied her over once more and attempted to put it all together once more. There was the possibility she was on the run for stealing something, actually that was probably it, she had stolen something. And if that was, which was very likely, then Char wouldn't want to be seen with her.
"I would love to hear your rant," Charlotte said with a smile, "but I must be getting home soon. But, believe me I don't want to. Your story sounds much more interesting," She added with a small chuckle.
Charlotte looked upward again as she felt a raindrop fall. And then another and another. With every one that fell the pace quickened. Without thought she held out her hands to catch the raindrops. She saw where Anya's eyes were focused and she brought hers to the same scene.
Char admired the woman and she felt a pang of jealousy as she saw her children. It had been so long and she hadn't yet had any children. She liked children and had always imagined having one. Immediately her smile faded and her good mood drowned in the jealousy. She had to tear her eyes away and look the other way to save some of her happiness at that moment.

Anya paused staring bemused at the girl, that was an answer she hadn’t expected this girl just kept pulling surprises out the bag. Anya, pulling her self out of the bemused state shrugged, she wouldn’t admit it but she was glad to have some female company. Anabelle her oldest and closest friend was never around these days or was it Anya who was never around?
"Im sure yours is much better than mine" Anya said cracking a friendly grin for the first time but it was short lived. The rain was now coming down in buckets and though Anya loved the smell of rain on conifers, the smell of rain in Nottingham town was much less desirable. It highlighted all the bad points such as sewers and compost heaps making the whole places even more morbid that it was before.
"You up for a run, No offence but if you get left behind im leaving you behind" It was harsh but she had risked her neck enough as it was. Anya want about to loose her life because some peasant girl couldn’t run a short way. Anya who’s hair was now sopping wet pulled up her hood though it was point less as she was wet already. Her light golden hair stuck to her face in strands blending in to her pale skin.
"Oii!"
This was not Anyas day!
"Mmm rant will have to wait till later im afraid" she growled though it her sweet voice it sounded like more of a passing comment. She tugged at the girls arm then sprinted skidding round a corner not looking back to see if her new acquaintance was behind her or if she had already been left behind. It was only early after noon but the dark grey clouds had plunged Nottingham in to what appeared to be dusk. After darting down a few damp narrow side streets Anya came to a stop and breathing hard held on to a stone wall for support.
“Not the best weather for a jog I must say” Anya said in between deep gulp of air.

"Im sure yours is much better than mine"
Charlotte laughed at the thought as she returned Anya's grin. She was disappointed that she didn't retain it long before it faded. As hers did Charlotte's did too. She shifted slightly as she felt the rain pour down on her. Char's large mass of curly brown hair began to shrink in its size and began to stick to her face and her neck. It now appeared as just an absolute mess. "It isn't, trust me," Charlotte said as she kept her eyes on Anya.
"You up for a run, No offence but if you get left behind im leaving you behind"
Charlotte tilted her head slightly with a laugh, wondering what in the world Anya was running from. "I do wish you would tell me what it is you are running from, but I will try and keep up." Charlotte resolved herself to have a little bit more time before going home. She could surely make up some excuse.
"Oii!"
Charlotte spun around on the soles of her shoes looking for the direction of the guard and then quickly turned again to look at Anya when she spoke. She didn't catch her words and she didn't have time to ask as she felt herself being dragged along again. Char made her feet move as fast as she could as she attempted to free her hands from Anya's grasp. Having done so she pulled up her skirts slightly so she could keep up better. Anya sure was fast, and she just barely kept up with her.
“Not the best weather for a jog I must say”
With a smile Charlotte breathed deeply and nodded. "I should say so. Heavens, you run fast dear Anya!" Charlotte let go of her skirt and wondered where they were exactly headed. It was quite exciting, though she couldn't get that voice out of her head that kept telling her she needed to do her duty as a wife and get back home.

Anya placed her forehead on the wall trying to catch her breath and letting the cold wood surface cool her down. Why had she gone in to Nottingham so soon and on her own, yes it was true that her face was not well known but it was still a risk. Now they certainly would know her face thanks to those two guards who didn’t know how to keep there hands to them selves. Eventually, after a few second of heard breathing through the nose and out through the mouth, Anya turned and smiled wearily at her new acquaintance.
"I should say so. Heavens, you run fast dear Anya!"
“I do try but usually I need motivation” she said with a tired laugh “The site of there ugly faces was motivation enough but the fact they where casing us I could have run for days.”
The rain was now falling thick and fast and Anya who was dressed in only a thin grey dress was drenched to the bone. This was one of the only dresses Anya had left back at camp. Dresses proved quite a hindrance in her new line of work. They got in the way, snagged on trees easily grabbed by pursuers and made running a lot harder than it had to be. Maybe it was time to give them up once and for all.
“Lets find some cover shall we then you can hear my rant in all its glory” Anya flashed Charlotte a friendly grin then pushed her self off the wall and stepped out of the shadows. The rain had stripped Nottingham town of its people only one man had stayed out and braved the rain and he looked as sopping wet as Anya and Charlotte. Nottingham in moment had been turned in to a Ghost town and Anya didn’t like it much in its new state. Carefully they rounded corner after corner until they reached the large town gates, the last obstacle in there way to safety. The guards at the gate where ones Anya had never seen before and the rain would no doubt be weighing down there armour so Anya was not to worried and approached with out her hood up.
“Evning gents” she said innocently as they passed by them and through the gates. "You alright?"

“The site of there ugly faces was motivation enough but the fact they where casing us I could have run for days.”
Charlotte laughed light-heartedly. This Anya was humorous, and most definitely not like the other woman she had known. She was an interesting one. She smiled at her, pleased that she had been so blessed in the company she recieved. Running had never seemed like a pleasant pastime until one is given an Anya to run with.
“Lets find some cover shall we then you can hear my rant in all its glory."
Charlotte raised an eyebrow absently wondering what in the world this rant would be, but she wasn't about to leave, whether she should or not. Her curiousity had gottent he better of her now. "Okay," Charlotte said with a small nod and a smile as she began to follow Anya.
"You alright?"
As the two passed the guards Charlotte held her breath, not exactly sure why but having some feeling that Anya was wanted for something and they could possibly know her face. Once the whole lot of them got their mind on something it seemed the never, ever quit obsessing over it. It was especially that way with taxes, which lately had become harder and harder to pay. Mostly, Char tried to let Peter handle all of that, as it was his place to do so. "Yeah, I am fine," she responded letting out her breath and continuing to follow Anya.
Charlotte wondered how everyone elses life was so much more interesting than hers. Every person she seemed to meet had some interesting story while hers was as bland as it came. But she did enjoy indulging herself in hearing other peoples tales and stories, even though most seemed to just make it up as they pleased, and she was fine with that as long as it entertained her.
"Where are we going, Anya?" Charlotte asked looking around them with wide eyes, a childish glow of curiousity radiating out of them.

Anya laughed a relived laugh as they walked down the dirt road leading away from the dreaded Nottingham gates that loomed tall behind them. Thanks to the rain the sun did not cast a long shadow of the gates that would fall on Char and Anya as the left leaving Anya with a bitter taste in her mouth until they had finally passed out of it shadow. One thing the rain did cure. It had now been falling heard for 10 minuets and Anya was positively soaked to the bone. The waves in her hair had straightened out hung limp and plastered its self to her face with the rain. As she walked her shoes squelched with moisture which left little bubbly foot prints behind her. Despite all that Anya was not cold die to there run which she was in no hurry to relive.
"Where are we going, Anya?"
“To the forest, unless you would rather go back” Anya said coming to a stop and gesturing to the gates with a wide grin before continuing to walk. “We need to get out of this rain before my fingers start to look like prunes.”
One of Anya’s pet hates and she had many. She could not stand to have pruned fingers. It was difficult for her as she loved to swim as often as she could but the pruned fingers would appear and she would be forced out of the water. The feeling as the wrinkles touched a surface made her feel sick and she had come close to actually vomiting more than once. What a pansy she was at heart. She could fight and hit men on the head with large metal pans but she couldn’t stand to have pruned fingers.
The borders of Sherwood Forest where conveniently a short distance away from Nottingham. It would not take the two only 5 minuets until they where safely under its cover. The site of its bright green trees was enough to make Anya smile and that was before she even though of who was hidden with in it.
“I really am sorry about all that,” she said after a few moments of silence. “I must have completely ruined your day. Did I tare you away from anything important?”
Anya had just become aware that she had been terribly rude. What had she been thinking when she grabbed the girl in to the shadows like a common thief? Now she was leading her to Sherwood away from her home and in the poring rain. Anya came to the conclusion that she had gone completely insane and might as well continue down the path of insanity now she was all ready on it.
“I don’t suppose you travel in to Sherwood often? It’s got a good smell so it does, when it rains though not in the sun. I think the sun brings out the worst in people but that’s just me,” She smiled weakly knowing that she was talking utter nonsense.
