It was late afternoon, the sun was slowly falling and the midges had begun to descend searching for there victims. On a quiet dirt road to Clun was Ronald, an older man of around 63 with a white and grey specked beard and wild untamed hair. Ron, since the death of his dear wife Cassandra, did not care much for his appearance, Appearances where for the young to worry about not the old and wearily. In stead of grooming him self in the morning Ron started out early on his vegetable patch that he would later tare apart as he stumbled in drunk after a night at the Inn.
He was a drinker and a loud one at that, the kind that would sing at the top of his voice both with company and with out. He would walk home an hour or 2 after midnight and hold his rounded stomach happily singing a jolly jig or on the off occasion when he was down when his spirits where low a slow ballad.
By that short description one might think Ron a sad and lonely man with nothing to live for but Ronald was as happy as he had ever been mines the death of his Cassandra.
“So I says take me down to ye old London town and ill buy you a drink for your troubles” he slurred having been drinking since mid day after being let off work early. Ron was the horse keeper at the delightfully dangerous Trip to Jerusalem Inn where he made a very meagre living. It was the perfect job for a man who loved drinking and did not mind mucking out a stable or two a day.
“Don’t worry me Martha I’ll buy him an Ale and well all go a skipping and dancing” he said forgetting the words to the original song and adding a few of his own in subconsciously.

Oscar was taking a short and wobbly stroll down a small road. He had spent the whole day so far drinking. Like most days. Nobody quite knew where he got the money ro pay for it from, but as long as he payed the bartenders were happy.
He was singing to himself looking very foolish when he stopped and his eyes widened. He shouted out very loud with great force. "aha!" He had heard a very recognizable voice. He swiveled round and waited for his eyes to stop moving so he could see who it was he was staring intensly at. When he noticed that it was his friend Ronald he rushed over to where he was and grabbed his hand shaking it crazily.
" Ronald, my old friend. Why it has been too long! I have not seen you round here...for what...a day or 2. Too long my good friend. We should leave it so long to meet up for a friendly chat and a drink or 2...or 3 OR 4"
He let out a great soaring laugh and stopped himself topplong over by oncez again grabbing Ronalds hand and shaking it looking very silly indeed. He let go of his hand and began talking a load of nonsense about how he had been on a great adventure and that was the reason they had not crossed paths for 2 days.
" and then the most tallest of beast jumped out of the cave, you cant even begin to imagine.... how scared he was of ME, he rushed back into the cave as soon as he saw how fierce i was!"
He smiled and chuckled. He actually thought that everyone would belive his stories. He told this same one allot, making small changed ever time. He knew that Ronald would react greatly to his adventure, much better than any old townsperson.
(SORRY, terrible ahahaha)

“ T’was such a nice morn in the meadows of green. Fair Martha did come a running to me. With a basket of primrose and time and rosemary and sang ad she skipped, Oh Martha”
His singing was growing louder and less tuneful as his song continued. It mostly consisted of the three different songs all mish mashed together to create a new not quite right song but Ron was far to inebriated to notice. A familiar voice grabbed his attention away from his singing.
“No!” Ronald cried with overdramatic enthusiasm and surprise.” No it can be Oscar! Dear friend where did you spring from? You look as though the ground its self has sprung you up!”
He listened and paid as close attention as he could whilst Oscar was retelling his story but his eyes and mind kept getting distracted.
“Well I’m sure that’s all very interesting,” he said between hiccups and placed a large grubby hand on his friends shoulder. ”But what do you say to some whisky at Wolseys eh!”

" You don't look the best you could either old man"
Oscar gave Ronald a big punch in the shoulder and toppled over on to the dirty ground. He stopped his constant laughing then stared up at Ronald not being able to tell what kind of expression he had on his face. He burst out into laughter again not realising that if he was ever to be sober he would be extremely hurt from the amount of times he fell over.
"It was most frightening i do admit but i coped with him, i fought with bigger before in my time.."
He attempted to pull himself back up but fell back down, he reached a hand up to Ronald hoping he would pull him up but received no helping hand...he kept his hand in the air so when Ronald did see it he could help him.
"I say, now that is a mind-blowing idea...and off we go"
His arm still in the air waiting. He was probably able to get up himself if he tried but he was far too drunk and lazy for that. Though soon he would get too impatient and probably just jump up himself.

Ronald frowned and looked down at his grubby attire, his old boots and his frayed tunic. Slowly he ascended in to a booming laugh which frightened off several birds that where peaking aimlessly at the ground.
“You are right my friend! But I still have my pretty face”, he fitted in through deep laughs. Slowly after much effort he calmed him self down and placed a large dusty hand on his round middle which was so filled with liquid already it was a wonder how he could even think about adding more in to the mix. Once he was fully composed he opened his wet eyes to find his friend had gone.
“Oscar…Ocars where can you be?”
A movement below caused Ronald to turn his gaze downward where he found his friends sitting drunkenly on the dusty ground. The laughter begun again but this time it was no more than a prolonged chuckle.
“Now what are you doing down there my friend? Looking for worms! Come now there is no time to loose there is valuable mead to be drunk.”
Grasping Oscars hand tightly Ronald helped his friend to his feet.
“Now away with us to Clun and no more falling down”.
Ronald now finding that he himself was going to fall down any second flung his arm over his friends shoulder. It was a hot day, or so he thought in reality it was rather chilly, and the sky was a light blue with only a few clouds here and there. The perfect weather for a drink.
"Now tell me old friend do you know this song? If so please join in. Oh she is my dear my darling!"
