"Something which appears to be a thought he holds for every day life," she said without thinking. She seemed to have forgotten for a moment just where she was and with who. But she knew the Guy knew she wasn't the biggest fan of the Sheriff.
Marian smiled when he pulled the chair out for her, sitting down and looking around. It felt more like the dungeon here than a place of knowledge. Turning back to him, she noticed he must seem to be thinking. He seemed lost, as if his thoughts were too much for him to put to the side for a moment. But that seemed to go soon though, and he stood and walked towards the books.
"Some of the more interesting topics, I'm sure," she said as he told her of the type of books he enjoyed. "I can't help but agree with you, books on history and religion are often around that it's hard not to pick them up occasionally. My father often had books on politics which I read often."

Guy looked at Marian a little shocked. “Politics? Sorry for seeming so shocked M’lady, but you shouldn’t worry your pretty head about politics.“
Guy realised what he had said, and closed his eyes, resting his head slightly on the books. He really was being un-sensitive. He couldn’t believe what he had just said, and he was trying to be nice. He tried to ignore the comment he had just said, hoping that some how Marian would miss it as ran his fingers along the books, as if looking for something in particular, but in fact he was just trying to look like he was doing something. His father always used to have lots of books, Guy thought. He shook his head, he didn’t want to reminisce.

Marian fround at his words, instantly feeling a surge of annoyance run through her. She always thought he viewed women slightly different than other nobles, despite how he would act in front of the Sheriff. Apparently she was wrong.
"Just because I am a woman does not mean I do not care about how things are run to ensure the best for the people."
Standing, she knew she had to leave before she lost her temper with him. She could not believe he had said that, and she could not control her anger for long. Usually she could, when she expected it from people. But from Guy...
"Excuse me Sir Guy," she said, her voice plain, as she began to walk towards the door.

Guy turned around and sighed when Marian walked out of the door. He rested his head on the books, and pushed himself away. He couldn’t fall out with Marian, when they have been getting on so well with one another. He walked outside and saw Marian walking away.
“M’Lady,” He called jogging after her and standing in front of her. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”
Guy gulped and looked at Marian.
“You are an intelligent woman, and I know that. I shouldn’t have presumed you weren’t. I apologise profusely.”

Marian could hear him coming before she could see him and she couldn't help the groan escaping from her lips. He never could learn to just leave her alone it would seem. Then he was standing in front of her, blocking her exit. All she could do was turn and go the other way but she had no doubt that would only make him grab her and refuse to let her go. It had happened far too many times before.
She didn't want an apology, she knew he meant what he had said. He did not seem to have any consideration for his words at the time, and therefore he did not care about what the circumstances would be. However, she had to stay on his good side if she ever wanted to persuade him to let her out of the castle more often, so she had no choice. But she could not keep her thoughts in.
"Of course, Sir Guy, you understand my dislike of such talk. I thought you may have realised my position in such a discussion as where women are meant to be. I did not for once believe you agreed that women have no place in the polictical world, I was just a little shocked to find out even more what your true nature is like."
