Guy saw her blush and watch his as he un-buttoned his buttons. He smirked inwardly, smiling at the effect he was having on the young woman. He whipped his hands on his shirt, and wished that there was a slight breeze. He watched as Marian tried to concentrate on his horse, she was also deep in thoughts about things outside of this room.
Guy rolled his eyes subtly at her naivety and sent her a smirk, which he knew was sometimes described as a smouldering smile but he wasn’t sure why.
“Well..er..I have a fire going in my room. My man - servant put it on earlier, before it got hot, so it’s probably really warm in my room.” Guy nodded, trying to make it sound realistic.
Guy dragged a hand over his forehead before un-tucking his shirt from his pants and flapping his shirt a little. “I don’t know how those foreigners cope.” He joked with a smile.

Marian was slightly unconvinced at his reason, but nodded all the same. It sounded slightly wrong, his reason as to why going to his room would not help, but she did not feel like it would be a good idea to point it out so obviously.
"Then perhaps you should have your fire put out or it will be uncomfortable for you later. Unless you are headed to Locksley."
It still angered Marian when she discussed Locksley as being his. She had grown up with the thought that Locksley was Robin's and that they would be married and live there together.
Her thoughts were pulled from that subject as he pulled at his shirt, loosening up. His smile made her stomach flip for some reason and without realising she flicked her tongue out to lick her lips. Glancing up as he spoke, she did not really share in his joke.
"They spend all their days in the heat, they will be use to it."

Guy just chuckled and ignored the way his heart started to beat a little faster when he saw her pink tongue flick across her lips. “You are right M’lady. Excuse me for my terrible jokes. I will be back in one moment, I just want to fill up his water bucket.”
Guy smiled at the young woman as he grabbed the bucket and walked past her to the pump. He walked to the pump, the bucket swinging by his side. He had to get his heart rate under control. He felt him starting to sweat under the hot sun and the fact he couldn’t get the imagery of Marian, running her tounge along her lips out of his head, didn't help. After he had filled the bucket he splashed some of the cold water on his face, and grabbed the bucket gently.
He walked back with it carefully, trying not to spill any. He walked back into the stable, placing the bucket in front of the horse carefully. He smiled gently at Marian, and ran the back of his hand over his face as he felt some of the water droplets falling from his hair.

For some reason, Marian always flushed when he called her M'lady. It was something she rarely heard, so when she did hear those words, it somehow struck up a hint of pride within herself. It made her feel as if she was on level with everyone, and not below as many would expect a woman to be.
She kept brushing the horse, keeping her eyes only on it as she thought. When he came back, his face and hair was wetter than before and she was sure that was not due to the heat. He must have chosen to throw water over himself in a bid to cool himself down.
She continued to keep shooting him glances, her thoughts whirling in her head. She could not get them straight, finding it hard to realise just what she wanted. Suddenly, she placed the brush on the stable floor, taking a few steps around the horse until she was near to him.
"Guy I realise that I have never apologised for what happened between us," she said quickly, taking a deep breath as she looked up at him. "I should not have embarrassed you in that way."
She had to make peace with him at some point, even if it was in the vainest of hopes that this would allow her a bit more freedom.

Guy looked at Marian and smiled softly. He had to admit, it was a brave thing for her to do. Apologise for leaving him at the alter. It had somehow become a topic that they wouldn’t discuss and just decided to ignore. Guy had admitted to himself along time ago, that yes Marian did make his heart jump a little but it was obvious that she didn’t feel the same way about him. He had decided to just try and be friends, yes he may try and have a little fun along the way. But what man wouldn’t want too.
“Please don’t apologize Marian.” he said continuing to smile.
He walked into the store room and grabbed a handful of treats. Guy walked back to his horse and put his hand under it’s mouth, letting it sniff them slowly before taking them with it’s teeth.
“Good boy.” Guy grinned patting him on his neck gently.
“I love horses,” Guy said more to himself than to Marian. “Always have, it was the only pet I ever had as a child. I was devastated when he died.”
Guy turned to Marian. “Did you have any pets when you were younger?”

Marian watched most of his movements, stunned that he told her not to apologise. She had not expected that, she thought it would more be a long the lines of yelling, or him telling her that she had to leave now. Leaning back down, she picked up the brush, resuming her gentle brushing of the horse.
She had to admit, she had rarely seen this side to Guy. She knew he could be kind at times, but this was far more caring than she was use to. She smiled at his comment about horses, and when he spoke of his childhood she was once again shocked. Guy hardly even mentioned his childhood, hardly ever spoke about anything personal.
"I had my first horse when I turned 7. My mother had not long died and my father felt it was a way to cheer me up. She was beautiful, white as snow," Marian spoke with a sad smile. "Ever since then, I'm afraid to admit, horses have been a weakness for me."
She remembered for a moment the time when he had bought her a horse, a way of proving his security for her. Surely he must have realised then just how much of a weakness horses were for her.

Guy smiled when Marian resumed brushing his horse, It made him feel a little better as he told Marian a moment from his childhood. He didn’t talk about his childhood, it made it too painful for him. He knew that his father and sister hated him with a passion, he had to admit, he didn’t really mind about his father, it was his sister that bothered him the most. They were great friends, and he wished they still were.
He smiled a sad smile when Marian talked about her mother. She didn’t talk about her often.
“Me giving you that horse, was a good thing to give you then.” Guy smiled
He patted the horse, as he finished brushing the beautiful creature. It’s black coat now shining in the streams of sun that were coming into the stable. He walked to the box and dropped his brush in it, and turned and smiled at Marian. He felt his back a little tense and stretched his arms up, trying to stretch the muscles in his back. He pulled his shirt down after running his hands over his face.
“Lady Marian, may I ask a presumptuous question? Would you like to have lunch with me?”

Marian blushed a little at his comment of him giving her the horse, almost feeling as if he had been reading her mind. Glancing at the box with the brushes in them, she placed her own brush in with his. As she began to stand to her full height, she found herself at level with his stomach, his shirt having ridden up.
This was getting ridiculous, she was not some teenager obsessed with a man and filled with lust. She was a grown woman, not the type to sit there and stare at another man. Especially when the man she loved was currently in the forest, partly due to the man in front of her.
Quickly pulling herself to her full height, she willed the redness in her face to go. Surely he would understand the thoughts in her head, would say to her. Yes she was happily in love with Robin, but that did not mean she would not notice the attractiveness of Guy.
"Of course, I'd be honored to."

Guy smiled at Marian. “It will be a great pleasure.” He picked up the bucket of brushes and carried them through into the stock room, and placed them back where they belonged. He grabbed his horse’s cover and folded it placing it in it’s right place. He walked back into the main stable. He picked up some straw and scattered it over the clean bed, that the servant had done this morning.
Guy turned to Marian with a smile. “I’m all finished M’lady, would you care to walk back to the castle with me, or would you like to go for a walk before lunch?"
Guy grabbed his leather jacket and slung it over his arm.

Marian watched as he finished his task, taking a few deep breaths. She could feel the redness in her cheeks begin to calm slightly, and her heartbeat began to slow to his normal beat. She had to get a hold of herself, stop being reeled in so easily by Guy. He had done this before, when she was still rather vulnerable and he seemed to know the right things to say to her to bring her closer to him. He understood her weaknesses, but not where her loyalities lie. He seemed to think that she had nothing to do with Robin anymore, which was helpful of course, but made it harder to come up with reasons to stop his advances.
"Whichever you wish, Sir Guy," she said, suddenly remembering her place in the castle and where she stood now with Guy. She rarely called him by that title, but since she had been brought here, she tried to stay on his good side.

Guy smiled at Marian, when she called him Sir Guy. She didn’t call him that very often, but he had to admit whenever they did talk one of them was angry, and they didn’t feel like being polite with each other. It made him happy when they wern't being nasty to one another. It was a nice change as far as he was concerned. He and Marian could have some very interesting conversations, and he had to admit, he missed them when they didn't have them.
“Well, I think if I was to go for a walk, I would possibly pass out on you. And I don’t think you would want that. How about we go and sit in the library in the castle? The sheriff won’t be in there and it will be nice and cool.”
Guy held out his arm for Marian and started walking to the castle.

Marian giggled a little, genuinely finding what he said funny. She had often laughed because she thought she had to, but she never did that with Guy. She never felt like she had to fake finding him funny, because he never seemed to want that. He seemed to like her disagreeing with him, she sometimes felt he enjoyed it a little too much.
"The library can be cooler at times. Though I do not spend that much time there. The guards who babysit me seem to be scared about letting me go there. Probably think a woman should not be more educated than she has to be."
Marian did not hide the distaste in her voice. She loathed men like that, who felt women should be educated to a certain degree, and leave all the great thinking to the men.
She looked at his offered arm, thinking for a moment. It was not as if this meant much, it was not overly intimate. Just friendly. Slowly, she slipped her arm through his, glancing at the floor for a moment before looking into his eyes, a small smile naturally placing itself on her face. She let him lead her, not wanting to appear too bold.

Guy smiled back at Marian as they walked back to the castle. The feel of her on his arm, made this day even better. It made his hairs stand on edge, and he was sure that even in this blistering heat, he had goosepimples. He couldn't help but mentally sigh at himself at his heart. Wishing it would stop beating so fast.
“I’ll see what I can do about you going into the library.” Guy nodded. “I didn’t know that was happening, you need to tell me things like that. I know you have to stay here, and you don’t want too. But we can try and make your stay here as pleasant as the Sheriff allows.
Guy nodded at the guards as they walked past him. The man, led the young woman down the stone corridors, and stopped when they reached the library. He pushed it open gently and held the door for her to enter. He could feel the cold air already.

"Thank you, Sir Guy. The library was a place I always enjoyed as a child," she said with a thankful smile. "I do not wish to cause any trouble though, after all, I am not a guest here, remember."
She rose an eyebrow at him, not wanting to say that she was more a prisoner than a guest. It was strange, this was once her home, where she spent a lot of her youth as a child when her father was Sheriff. And now she was trapped here.
Marian felt the cold air of the library hit her hard as the door was opened, and the sheer contrast of hot to cold made her shiver. For a moment, she moved into Guy's warmth, before realising just how close that made them and pulled back.
"This place feels a lot less...homely than it use to."

“The sheriff thought it was a place of work, not relaxation so he changed things.” Guy told Marian, closing the door behind them. He looked at Marian and remembered when she moved into his warmth, it had felt so good. He shook his head and ran his hand through his hair before pulling a chiar for Marian to sit on.
“M’Lady.” He smiled politely holding the chair. The cool air was lovely, as far a he was concerned in contrast to the warm heat from out side. The stone keeping in the cold air, and not letting any hot air in. Guy sat down in an opposite chair, a table in between them. Guy wanted to be closer, but he knew it would look strange if he pulled his chair around to be nearer to her.
Guy knew that the two of them were always on rough territory and he didn’t want to make it worse by Marian thinking he was being presumptuous on her.
Guy smiled softly at Marian, as he sat back in the chair. He looked around the room, looking at all the books. He had to admit, it was somewhere he had never had the pleasure to spend a lot of time in. He just never had time to do anything for pleasure. The sheriff made sure of that.
Guy thought back to the time he had managed the weekend off. It was a few months after he had joined forces with the Sheriff. He was thinking of his past. His friends, his family. He shook his head as he remembered the stable boy, and decided he had enough thinking.
“So M’Lady, what do you like to read?” Guy said standing up and walking to the book. “I myself like reading about our history and religion. The two things have always interested me.”
