Charlotte Bennett had never been one to take pleasure in the pain of others, but she found that once she had set her gaze upon the hanging man, it could not be torn away. There was some captivating thing to watching death, however cruel that part of a human was. She had no doubt in her mind seeing that man's pained, tortured face would add to the curiosity even more. Char did not want to stand there, but something would not let her move so she stared in a mixture of horror and complete content at the hanging.
All around her she heard murmurs that all seemed to blur together as her mind raced with thoughts. It didn't feel right to be there, though so many gathered at every hanging and laughed at the prospect of another dead thief.
Charlotte had been to few hangings in her life, the thought had never tempted her nor seemed like a pleasant pastime. Realizing how odd she must look in the gawking state she tore her eyes away to make a point to herself that she was not absolutely taken with this terrible punishment. Her brown eyes locked on the ground, though her mind willed them to look and witness the shortly arriving death.
In an effort to pry her attentions away she began walking through the crowds, pushing and shoving, feeling that she had to do anything and everything to get out of there. Her pace quickened into a run. Charlotte had a light-headed and dizzy feeling becoming more unmistakable in her jumbled mind. Nothing seemed to piece together as she continued to push through the huge crowds.

Noah was rather enjoying his day. He had sentenced a god few people to death and was at this moment hanging one of them. He had a massive smile on his face as he was telling the hangman to pull the lever. He had his hand pointed out straight ready to shake it, which was the signal. He was pacing back and forth reading out the the names of the criminal and what they had committed. Whilst reading he kept the grin on his face as big as he could to show the watching peasant that he couldn't care less that he was killing another person for such a little crime.
"Sarah Odmin, the silly little wench shamefully decided to steal one of the chickens from the kitchen. There seems no better punishment, she has decided not to apologize and so therefore shall be hanged."
He looked at a nearby peasant who looked very upset, upset enough to be a family member, or a friend. He lent over and said something to the lady who was all red and puffy. She collapsed in complete and utter sadness. Noah must have said something terribly awful to her.
He looked up to see if there was anybody else to torment and saw a girl pushing past the crowd hurriedly. He decided that she was exactly the right person to annoy. He jumped down from the post on which he was standing and stretched out his arms pushing the people around him away. He reached the girl and lightly tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hello, going somewhere interesting? I want you to stay here, please stay, for me...."
Noah, being a good actor, put on a cure puppy dog face and tried to look convincing telling the young girl to stay. He wanted to see her reaction but could not be bothered waiting so he decided to give up the act and he replaced the frown with same giant grin he had earlier. He lifted his arm and with it grabbed the girls wrist. He tugged on her trying to lead her back to where he was standing.
"Since you are so eager to stay, you can have a front row seat"

While in a daze Char closed her eyes for a moment and took deep breaths to regain some of her fading sense. As she reopened them and was about to begin walking again she felt a tapping on her shoulder. Instinctively she put her hand to her head as she turned around after taking a moment to think about the appropriate action. Charlotte's dark eyes searched for a moment before realizing the man standing there was speaking. "No," Charlotte responded immediately as she felt her head throbbing again. "I can't stay," She said in a sharp voice as her gaze once again locked onto the scene that was going on behind the man.
Charlotte's eyes narrowed in confusion as his frown was replaced with a smile. Her thoughts again went into action, being dominant in her mind, causing her to lack any and all concentration.
Char gasped as she felt a hand, his hand, grab her wrist. In a slow reaction she attempted to pull it away from his grasp. She didn't understand, nor did she feel like dissecting the situation, why he was now trying to pull her towards him. "Please," Charlotte pleaded weakly. She willed for her immensely unpleasant headache to go away, but it would not seem to. The throbbing made her dizziness even more so present.
"No, I need to get back," Charlotte responded. "I don't want to see this." She tugged again weakly but with little force as she felt she could currently retain no strength at all. "I don't want to," she repeated as she closed her eyes again wishing the pain would go away so she could concentrate on the situation at hand. She squeezed her eyes tightly together as she pulled her hand in frustration.

Noah ignored whatever the girl had been saying to him as he carried on dragging her toward the stand, with his grin getting wider and wider. He stopped to look at everyones faces but the reaction was not big so he carried on pulling her arm. He stepped up and pushed her to the ground.
"Oh, i do apologize. I really should have some more manners."
As he said this an old woman standing among the crowd shouted out at him and his cheeks shot up in bright red and full of anger. He was furious. Lately many people had been talking back to him and he did not like it at all.
"Course you should, you nasty wee maggot."
He looked at the girl he had pushed to the ground and made a small husky noise at her then turned and slowly stepped down to the same level as the villagers. He looked around to try and match the voice to a face, he saw a horrible sickly looking old lady and immediately knew it was her.
"and i suppose you are going to teach me them eh ? Guards take this woman to the dungeons.." Noah was feeling especially mean today. He was not going to let anybody get away with anything, no matter how small the crime was, people were going to be punished. He ran back up to the girl and pulled her up. He was not going to hurt her, but instead he was going to just mess with her head. He leaned over and whispered in her ear.
"Yes, your fault. You are going to live with this forever. You have killed this poor woman."
He had completely forgotten that she had done absolutely nothing, he had only decided to do this, because he knew she was totally uncomfortable with it. He stopped, thought about it for a second then stopped thinking. He never thinks, why should he start now.
"Let the hanging commence"
He pointed a finger at the lever man and nodded his head at the same time. He grabbed the girls chin and turned her head to face the victim. He was going to make her watch. He smiled whilst watching.
"This is fun, is it not? Keep your eyes open, you do not want to miss the best part"

Charlotte walked unhappily along behind the man with the anger welling up inside of her as she thought of many ways to get back at this man. Today had been a bad day to visit. She finally began to feel the pain in her head subside. Char's eyes looked around her wondering if anybody was reacting to her being dragged along or if they were all too encaptured in their minds at the hanging.
It came as a surprise to feel herself being pushed over with much force. Charlotte was shocked that he would have pushed her, though she wondered how it hadn't came to her before. As she felt her hands catch her on the ground she stared up at him in disbelief. Char slowly lifted her hands to see the damage the rough ground had done to them. As if they were not already as rugged as could be they had now gained a few minor scratches that bled slightly. "Sir, please!" Char yelled up at him. "One does not treat a woman so. I would think one of your caliber would know that!"
Char began to straighten her skirts on the ground when she heard a woman speaking. She nodded slightly in agreement but her mouth fell open in another painful realization that this woman was going to be killed for what she had just said. "No, no!" Charlotte screamed at him. "You can't do that!" She swallowed hard as he pulled her back up.
"My fault!?" Charlotte raged. "This is not my fault. If any it is yours, sir," she said sharply. "Can't stand when people say something about you," she muttered to herself. She could not help but get the feeling that she would be the next person to be sent to the dungeon, but he was not leaving her any option but to fight back with her words, if anything.
Charlotte shuddered as she felt him grab her chin and force her head to face the terrifying scene. She did not attempt to escape from his harsh grasp because she knew he wouldn't just let her go. There wasn't a point. "You can make me watch, though I don't understand the point of that. What are you trying to accomplish by forcing me to watch this?" Charlotte questioned, disgusted at his ways. She cringed as she felt his fingers clenching her chin. His grasp felt like it was getting more and more tight.

Noah watched as the guards ran down the courtyard steps and grabbed hold of the old woman, she was shouting and trying to wriggle free of them but they held their grip very tightly. Noah lifted his arm up and waved the old woman as she was being carried away screaming.
The young girl had the noose around her neck and she was looking extremely scared. This excited Noah, he loved nothing more than a god hanging, especially when the victim was terrified. He was standing proudly watching and waiting for the most exciting part to come, when he heard the voice of the girl kneeling below him.
'One does not treat a woman so. I would think one of your caliber would know that!'
Noah eyes shot open. Who did she think she was speaking to him as if she was of higher status than him. She was a disgusting little peasant, she should get hanged for this, but not just yet he was going to play with her a little more. He looked down at her and shook his head, he was trying not to shout the courtyard down. He kept a straight face and looked back up again. He looked round at the watching peasants looking at him with complete shock.
"I agree completely"
Noah did not listen to her, he just kept saying yes and agreed with anything she said, purely because he could not be bothered with her ignorance. He once last time told the guard to pull the lever and so he did. The girl, who was crying allot by now, struggled a bit then dropped down and everyone watching dropped their heads. All apart from Noah and a few of the guards.
"Goodbye...what is your name peasant?"
Noah listened to her as she carried on talking and saying that it was n fact his fault not hers. He got increasingly angrier and could not take much more until he would have to take this girl away somewhere else. He waited until her next rude words to pick her up once more and drag her elsewhere as he was bored with the courtyard as the hanging excitement was over.
"Girl, if you say one more word to me that I do not like, I swear I shall have you hanged, I am being nice to you,not many people get to see this with such a great view"

Charlotte's eyes widened as she watched the pain and crying of the girl being hanged. This wasn't right and one must have been completely senseless if they thought so. Char swallowed as she stared at the suffering all the while wishing wouldn't have come even though her curiousity had insisted upon it so.
Charlotte knew she had pushed her luck. Her mind was getting the better of her and the harsh words that formed inside it were pushing themselves out.
"I agree completely"
What? Charlotte thought as she wondered what in the world this man was talking about it. It was completely confusing how he spoke, how he acted, all of it. It was all some strange act and it was bugging Charlotte to no end.
Charlotte was annoyed at his simple responses, it was quite obvious he was simply ignoring her. She did not move as she forced her eyes shut, not able to watch the hanging on longer.
"Goodbye...what is your name peasant?"
For a moment she went into deep thought about who he was saying goodbye to. Was he even talking to her? Char couldn't see his face, so she could not tell where his gaze was directed. Finally, she came to the assumption it was her he had asked the name for.
"Charlotte Bennett, sir."
She considered asking for his name before deciding that idea was a not such a good one. He was cruel and despicable, why would she want such a name? But still she was curious as to who this man was.
"Girl, if you say one more word to me that I do not like, I swear I shall have you hanged, I am being nice to you,not many people get to see this with such a great view"
Charlotte held her tongue as a million responses flew through her mind. The hanging threat was enough to silence her. She reopened her eyes to see the almost lifeless, dangling form of the girl and gasped in some realization of the situation. That girl just died and what could she have possibly done to deserve that? She felt herself being dragged along again by the man and she sighed in frustration at feeling so powerless.
"Sir, may I ask where you are taking me?" She asked trying to sound polite though it sounded very forced and was quite obviously so.

"Charlotte Bennett, hm Charlotte...Yes okay. Well Charlotte, we are just going on a nice little walk, is that okay with you. Well actually I shouldn't really ask you that, you might get to thinking you have a choice"
Noah had not yet decided on where he was going to be taking her, he just walked with her, holding her had whilst he did so, and thought about it. He was not going to take her to the dungeons. He was not as evil as people thought he was, he would not prosecute somebody that has done absolutely nothing, like Charlotte.
He had in fact already thought about releasing the old woman as she had hardly done any different than many villagers would have done. She was just trying to stick up for the poor girl. He also did rethink it and decide that he did not want people thinking he was soft.
"Any ideas where you would like to go? I cannot imagine you have explored the castle before?"
He was going to be nice to her, not incredibly nice, but nice enough so that hopefully she would cooperate with him, and not try and attack him and run away. He smiled at her, trying to make it look real, but it did not work at all. He just looked plain scary.

"Charlotte Bennett, hm Charlotte...Yes okay. Well Charlotte, we are just going on a nice little walk, is that okay with you. Well actually I shouldn't really ask you that, you might get to thinking you have a choice"
Charlotte looked up at him again as she walked in a stride in an attempt to keep up with him. His words angered her, though she did not take anything he said to heart seeing as she was more a victim than anything. She had simply been there and he had obviously been needing someone to be this way to.
"No, I didn't imagine so, Sir."
She didn't know how to handle this situation at all. Such an event had never been put up to her before. So she decided to be as respectful as possible and then maybe, just maybe, she would get out of this without being hanged.
"Any ideas where you would like to go? I cannot imagine you have explored the castle before?"
"I haven't."
Charlotte attempted to smile back as he smiled at her, but was a bit intimidated by the look he wore. She didn't understand why he was being like this. One minute he would be extremely rude to her and the next he would be trying, at least, to smile at her.
"You have quite a lovely smile," Char lied. "Would you mind telling me your name."
Thinking about it, Char began to worry about the time. Peter would surely be angry if she wasn't home soon. He would probably be mad if he knew she had left at all. However, Char did not dare bring this up to this man. What did it matter to him, anyway.
(Sorry this took so long. And it wasn't a very good post! Blek!)

Noah was still thinking about where to take her when he saw door to the chapel up ahead. He was not at all a religious man and did not care for praying or anything in that sense. He much preferred spending his Sunday mornings in the courtyard, shouting at people or watching a hanging.
"The chapel is alright, I suppose some might say it is rather beautiful. I don't really listen to all that bible mumbo jumbo though. It is rather boring, do you not agree Charlotte? Maybe we should not visit there, I may fall asleep"
He was touching the door with his fingers ready to open it,until he decided to go somewhere else and grabbed her arm turning her around to face another hallway. He let go of her, trusting her to walk herself, after all there were guards everywhere. They would notice a girl running through the castle.
Noah had thought of another place that he might like to go. He had the rest of his day free as he was just plain lazy and asked for the day off. He was good at getting people to let him do whatever he pleased, but usually not the sheriff. He must have been in a good mood. He saw ahead of him a nice looking door, quite a new door, he had not yet visited what lay behind it, but he had heard about it. This would be somewhere Charlotte would like to visit, most girls would.
He pushed the door open to reveal a beautiful garden. It had lovely flowers of many different colours. There were some benches by the side, he say on one of them and looked up at Charlotte. He had no idea why he had brought her there. He would just have to improvise and see where it went, he had some sort of hate for her, without really knowing her at all.
"My name...why don't you know, I am only Noah Green. Of course you wouldn't know that. You are a common peasant. I suppose this is your first time out of your home. I would not get to attached to me, this will be the last time you will ever be in this castle, unless of course you do something to make me angry and then, you will have a special visit, to the dungeons"

"I do have a belief in the bible, Sir. So I may ask you not cross any lines in the area of religion."
That was about as far as Charlotte decided to go on that topic, wanting to defend her beliefs but not wanting to be rude. Char had never been very religious, finding she did not have time to visit church very often, and he was right some of it did bore her to no end.
Charlotte was pleased to feel his grip on her arm cease as he let her go. "Thank you," she said with a smile, as she gave a grateful look to the man, though she should have never had to be in his grip to begin with.
She laid her eyes on quite a fancy door and was pleased to see that he was taking her to it. Char imagined what was behind it, though some of the things she imagined scared her. What her eyes saw was much better than anything her imagination could conjure. Beautiful flowers were everywhere. "Wow..." She said with a smile as she waited for him to go in first, she didn't want to get in trouble. As he did, she followed him in.
"Thank you for bringing me here," Charlotte said as she tore her gaze from the flowers, a harder task then it would seem, and brought them to his face. "It is beautiful," Charlotte commented her voice gaining sincerity.
Her smile faded as he once again spoke in that bipolar way of his. One minute being completely nice and the next being rude. "Nice to meet you, Noah," Char said giving a slight bow and not knowing why. "And I wasn't expecting ever to return to the castle, anyway. Nor was I getting attached. And I have left my home multiple times before...
