‘We must make hast My Lady but please let me know what you would like to hear. I confess i don't know where to begin .Shall we begin with yourself your life must be far more interesting then my own.’
Blessie nodded reluctantly, skirts pluming around her as she absently moved forward through the brush, feet quickening over the array of debris. She didn’t know what he wanted to hear, nor what she could readily say. He had already shown disdain for the man that had been so gracious toward her, the man whom she had spent years of her life doting upon and befriending, besides that her life was an average one of extended royalty; balls and wealth filling her life as she ambled around court. A life of a courtier, nay the life of any woman, no matter how great nor draped in prestige was still a life tainted with undue confinement and boredom.
‘My life is exceedingly boring Much, I promise you that. After my husband passed away I travelled to London and became a lady to Prince John’s wife but was released from her service after several indiscretions.’ She smirked at that, still revelling in the absurdity in which she had behaved, she had been a fool yet it was humorous none the same. She smiled once more, eyes gleaming with amusement. ‘Now I bid you, you must tell me of how you became such a fiendish outlaw. You have interested me after all, an earl who has become an outlaw but only distributes wealth to the needy and poor, it is fascinating Much.’
The faint edge of the clearing loomed into the distance as the sunlight cracked spewing tendrils of fading light across the worn track. The silence that enveloped the pair was intoxicating and she felt a lone sigh worm through her lips. It was nice, she mused, to feel so utterly calmed and free. The emerald shroud of trees wrapped and wound around her lithe figure as she ambled toward the break. Much was far better company that she had anticipated, his insights more thought provoking than she had intended. It was odd, she mused, that one could be so arrogant as to not even think that outlaws could readily be decent folk.
She smiled as the forest opened up into an expanded wasteland of beauty with Nottingham castle looming on the ever present horizon. There was a few trees scattered against the brush as fields stretched beyond the vision of man and the shadow of the majestic stone building seemed impossibly far. Dusk was closing in on the figures yet in such a vast pasture she was no doubt sure that she would be safe here, besides that it would only be a few minutes longer at a brisk walk to move back into the castle. She stumbled to a stop in the undergrowth, face glowing with useful enthusiasm as she turned to face her guide.
‘I thank you my lord for being so gracious with myself, you have been unexpected if not pleasant company.’ Her heavily accented voice drawled effortlessly across the field, a smile furling onto her features as she sighed, eyes fluttering shut as a cool breeze flitted around her face. ‘But you must do something for me Much, you must take the bracelet and use it for some good. There is little point of it lying idle against my wrist, besides I need to finally let go.’ She smiled, carefully unclasping the ornate band and dropping it effortlessly into Much’s palm, furling his fingers around it afterward.
Sweeping into a low curtsy she inclined her head, a melodic laugh worming through her lips as she straightened up. ‘My lord, it has been duly interesting.’
I'm sorry it's so pathetic, I just can't get into Blessie and besides that I'm taking care of my mom at the moment.
