"Don't touch me," Guy said cooly, brushing her hand slightly roughly away from his face. The feeling of her smooth skin against his stubbly cheek had sent a thrill through his body which had made his stomach turn. His teeth were still clenched together at he turned to look at her. It was almost painful to look at those perfect features and know he'd been so close to having a legitimate claim to her. "We could have had each other. We could have taken care of Sir Edward together!" He'd spoken slightly louder than he'd intended to and the sound of his voice resonating around the stone corridor took him by surprise. He stepped backwards away from her, fixing her with a pained gaze. "All I asked for was your loyalty. I thought that, perhaps, if you got to know me, your affection for me would grow." He turned away from her again. "I was wrong..."

Marian jumped back a little when he brushed her hand away, suddenly scared about what he was capable of. He was getting angrier, and it frightened her. She had seen what he could do, and knew that if he got so angry that he would lash out, he would not hesitate to lash out at her.
"Take care of my father? Guy you used him as a bargaining tool at the alter! You only cared about protecting my father because it meant I would continue the wedding!"
She found herself getting angrier, and she refused to back down. She kept her gaze on him, standing her ground, ready for anything. However, the one thing she was not ready for was the pain in his eyes when he stepped away from her.
"I do care for you Guy."

Guy looked down, feeling slightly ashamed of himself. "I know, and that was wrong. But you have to understand," he said, looking back up at her, his expression one of desperation. "I would have said anything to keep you there. I could see you slipping away and it was breaking my heart..." He stopped suddenly. He'd said too much. He'd let his guard slip and accidentally revealed a little too much of his true feelings. As suddenly as he'd stopped talking he turned and started off along the corridor, beckoning for Marian to follow. While they stood in the hall bickering, they were just asking for unwelcome attention. Marian's room was only on the floor above; they could talk in there.
It didn't take them long to reach Marian's door and once they were inside the room, Guy immediately felt more relaxed. He always felt exposed in the castle. Too many times exchanges had been overheard to his cost. He didn't turn to face her, however. He walked across to the window and peered outside. It was a grey day, much like Guy's mood. He felt like he needed to say something else, explain, but he was sure he'd said plenty downstairs. He gulped, waiting for a response.

Marian froze when he said she broke his heart, not realising she had that much of an affect on him. Suddenly, he had pulled away and told her to follow. She kept up behind him, thinking over his words. The guilt was getting too much, to think that she had gone through with so many weeks of acting like the doting wife she would have to be if the wedding was finished. She spent so long getting on his good side to make sure that she could keep Robin safe. But she never realised how much he had fallen for her, and it hurt to think she had done this to him for her very own gain, made him believe she wanted to be with him.
When the got to her room, she swallowed, worried for a moment about what might happen. He was angry, and there was no one else here, and it scared her to think of what he may be capable of. But he was just standing there, avoiding her gaze. She took a moment, waiting to see if he was going to speak, but it was clear he was waiting on her.
"Guy I..." she sighed, shaking her head. There was nothing she could say in response to his confession, nothing that could mean much to him. And she couldn't take back the events.

Guy snorted, shaking his head as he turned back to face her. "You won't even have the decency to explain yourself?" He bit down on his tongue, trying to calm himself. "Not to worry. I don't have time to listen to your pitiful wingeing anyway." He gave her a long, hateful look before storming across to the door and wrenching it open. "You will stay here from now on. If I find you anywhere in the castle or grounds without a guard again, I will not be so lenient. I'm fed up of protecting you from yourself." His back was still to her but he couldn't quite bring himself to walk away from her. Instead he stood quite still where he was waiting for her reaction. He wouldn't be surprised if she lashed out at him; he'd merited it.

Marian kept as far away from him as possible when he began to lash out. She stood tall, not showing any fear, and stepped aside when he moved to leave. At least he wasn't physically taking his anger out on her, she half expected that. She had seen how violent he could be, and just by seeing his reluctance to do anything to her here, she knew deep down, he still had that goodness within him. That ability to be a good man. But then he didn't leave, and she could not stop her thoughts from running wild. There were so many things she could say, but there was one she knew would hit him hard.
"Treat me in such a way and I will never forgive you. Anything that we could have would become impossible."

Guy's jaw was set as he looked daggers at her. "Don't you do that," he growled threateningly. "Don't you dare try to blackmail me." He ran his tongue over his teeth, his breathing deep and slow as he tried to control his temper. Slowly, he circled around her, the spurs at his heels clinking as his boots made contact with the cold stone of the castle floor. "You are under house arrest, Marian. That means you do as the Sheriff says, no exceptions." He shook his head and glanced at the floor. "I have done, and will continue to do, as much as I can to ensure the comfort of you and your father, but you must co operate. If you do not, there will be very little I can do to ensure your safety..."

"I am not blackmailing you, I am telling you the truth!" she replied, her stance just as threatening.
She was not one to back down easily. She never had been. So she kept her eyes on Guy with every step he took, not once looking frightened. She knew he done what he could, but keeping her under house arrest? He certainly wasn't trying enough when she looked at it.
"I am grateful for your efforts," was the only thing she felt she could say.
