Luke ignored the fact that he was laughing, albeit a poorly conceived coughed one, as he didn’t want to drag it back up when they were talking nicely. However, it did irritate him immensely that his brother would find his behaviour amusing in the slightest, even if it was what it was like when they were children. He would always go and sulk whenever his father would scold him, and that was exactly the same thing he did with Will whenever he told him off or took a slightly annoyed tone with him. Perhaps still acting like a child was not exactly the most effective way of convincing someone to join the outlaws, but then to be fair he didn’t stand much chance either.
Sighing when Much left, he was quite sad about that fact. He would not run after him of course because that would obviously not be something he wanted, but he would have preferred him to stay and talk to them for a little while longer. Despite thinking he was strange to begin with, he actually rather liked Much’s company and would inevitably seek it out again. Still, he was more than satisfied with just talking to Will as they very rarely had the opportunity to have a good chat anymore with him always in the forest. It was something that hopefully would sort itself out, but he didn’t think that would happen in the near future.
“You are right. We don’t talk enough but then you have it easy. You have Robin, Much and the others to live with and so you are never alone. I don’t have anyone to talk to...’’ he said, bitterly. He wished so much that he would have some decent conversation whenever he wanted it like his brother had despite his earlier comment, but all of his childhood friends lived in Locksley and the only person who he had really liked since returning was Anabelle, and she lived in Locksley as well. “I don’t care if I get caught’’ Luke then said with a sneaky grin. “I mean, how many times has Robin been caught? He still gets out of it every time and I know that you would not let me hang without breaking me free.”
